“What’s so extraordinary about that?”

At Ian’s words, I shook my head and shared my feelings with him.

“It’s been so long since I’ve done an examination myself—of course I’m excited! Besides, I want to uncover the secret behind this illness and earn recognition for my skills.”

“But didn’t you already earn Perman’s recognition before?”

“Not from others. It feels like everyone else doubts my abilities.”

“You don’t need to be so anxious. Anyone with eyes will quickly see just how exceptional an apothecary Jane really is.”

I placed both hands over my heart and replied to him, who was trying to comfort me.

“I’m so nervous and excited about visiting in person for an examination after such a long time. It even feels like my heartbeat is pounding loudly right next to my ears.”

“No.”

Ian firmly shook his head, rejecting my explanation.
