Saved Him, Now I'm Obsessed (10 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 123
The opera house was located right in the middle of the city, where the carriage-only road ran through.
It was considered one of the architectural symbols of the capital of the Carlobanian Empire, with twelve statues of heroes who once protected the nation encircling its bronze-colored roof.
Though not particularly large or tall, with its four-story structure, the building rivaled any palace in sheer opulence.
I had seen the building before while passing through the area, but this was my first time actually stepping inside.
Unlike during banquets, there weren’t many carriages around. Given the opera house’s relatively limited seating capacity, it felt smaller compared to imperial banquets—but precisely because of that, it seemed like a refined cultural experience reserved only for a select few.
I’d heard that, much like banquets, attending an opera required an invitation—but not just any invitation; it also served as proof of having made a donation.
Since invitations were typically extended in order based on the amount of funding each noble contributed toward the opera production, it meant that only nobles with both high rank and considerable financial means could afford to enjoy opera.
In truth, Ileina and I had come here using the invitation Ian had sent us.
Ileina seemed to have attended quite a few operas before. Then again, considering her family background, it wasn’t surprising at all that she enjoyed opera.
Her natal family held a high noble title, possessed unmatched wealth thanks to a long string of successful trading ventures, and had always generously invested in cultural and artistic endeavors.
“The interior is incredibly lavish as well.”
Following Ileina into the hall, I couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration. The space—adorned with a red velvet carpet, magnificent murals, and an elaborately painted ceiling—offered so much to look at that I hardly knew where to rest my eyes.
Though I’d come expecting to be awed by the opera itself, I found myself marveling even more at the building and its displayed artworks.
Upon entering the auditorium, I saw a stage set in the center, with seats arranged in a semicircle before it. Tiered private boxes lined the wall opposite the stage.
Our seats were along the side of the stage, positioned so both the stage and the boxes were clearly visible. According to Ileina, these were quite good seats.

Xin Jiao Zhou: “???”

She came to see him, bringing breakfast.
As she put down the breakfast and was about to leave, his hand slipped while holding the spoon. “Clank!”
She turned around upon hearing the noise.
He looked up at her, his eyebrows drooping: “My hand… has no strength.”
“Shall I… feed you?” she asked tentatively.
He opened his mouth cheerfully: “Ah—”
Thinking she was drowning, he jumped in without hesitation to save her, but nearly drowned himself. In the end, it was she who swam over to rescue him, giving him air underwater.
After emerging from the water, his ear tips turned red. He lightly brushed his cheek, tucking his sideburns behind his ear, revealing delicate, pink-tinged ear tips. He lowered his gaze, too embarrassed to look at her.
Xin Jiao Zhou: He’s truly beautiful, kind-hearted, and adorable.
