“Over here! Hunter Kang I Hyeon! This way!”

“Yes! I’m coming!”

Kang I Hyeon wiped the sweat from his forehead and rushed into the auditorium of the annex building. Although the annex was outside the gate’s range, a thick purple mist—created by the toxic miasma exhaled by rescued students—hung heavily in the air.

Medical personnel clad in protective suits and healers who appeared to be government-affiliated were carefully monitoring each unconscious student.

Lee Hyeon frowned as he checked the students’ conditions—their state was far more critical than he had anticipated. Their blood vessels had swollen purplish-blue beneath the skin, with some areas grotesquely distended.

“The toxin is spreading throughout their bodies in real time. It’s moving so fast that even a large group of skilled healers can’t contain it.”

A medic wearing a gas mask approached him and explained the situation. Lee Hyeon, who had been meticulously examining each student’s face, finally snapped his fingers twice against his cheek and straightened his eyes.

“At this rate, we can’t even transport them to the hospital.”

“Yes. The poisoned areas on the students are emitting toxins, so we must neutralize that first—along with emergency treatment.”

Though hospitals nearby had already been contacted, the medic explained that it was impossible to bring the students to the ER in their current state, as the miasma seeping from their bodies would endanger other patients.

“But right now, even emergency treatment isn’t feasible.”

At those words, Kang I Hyeon turned his gaze toward the auditorium. The dispatched healers were visibly trembling as they prayed over the students. Their eyes were already deeply sunken from pouring out so much holy power.

“Oh, no… no, no, please!”

Having finished their treatment and lowered their hands, the healers panicked when a student’s arm began swelling purple again, and immediately resumed their prayers. The medic let out a heavy sigh and said,

“No matter how little holy power we reduce, the toxin immediately surges back.”
