Under normal circumstances, public opinion would have turned against Rude too—the one who first discovered and cleared the Gate—accusing him of hiding the fact that it had jumped to Grade 2. But not this time.

Na Ri clicked again on the YouTube highlight reel of Seongjeon’s press conference about the Grade 2 Gate, recommended by the algorithm. She liked it out of pure delight and had probably rewatched it about five times already.

Click-click—the moment she played the video, the sound of journalists’ camera shutters filled the air. It was Q&A time at Seongjeon’s press conference. One reporter raised a hand and spoke.

“There’s a rumor that Mr. Rude deliberately concealed the existence of this Grade 2 Gate and joined Seongjeon specifically to suppress the spread of that information. Is this true?”

When Na Ri first heard that question, her blood ran hot—then quickly cooled again. It was true she hadn’t spoken up because she didn’t want to be bothered—but absolutely not for that reason.
