“Hello. I’m Guild Master Kang Su Jin of Seongjeon Guild. Congratulations on your final acceptance. You’ve worked very hard.”

“You’ve worked hard as well, Guild Master. I heard you personally reviewed and hired me. It must have been difficult to observe me with your bare eyes.”

“Not at all. Viewing you through a medium posed no real danger, so it was fine.”

At the very top floor of Seongjeon Guild, in the Guild Master’s office. Rude, who had just received his final acceptance notification, sat on the reception sofa, gently tracing the rim of his teacup.

The scent of black tea, freshly brought by a servant, filled the room. Even to Na Ri—who had only ever drunk tea brewed from tea bags—the aroma smelled luxurious.

Watching Rude sip his tea, the Guild Master picked up a document. Now that hiring was confirmed, it was time to negotiate terms.

She glanced sideways at Rude seated across from her. The man she’d only seen on screen—dressed entirely in black—now sat casually on the sofa, his expression indifferent as he poked at an orange slice in his teacup with a fork.

‘He really is a monster.’

Kang Su Jin turned her eyes back to the documents, deliberately avoiding direct eye contact. There was an immense difference between seeing someone on a screen and seeing them in person.

Even Lee Hyeon had felt like an entirely different caliber up close—but this was another level entirely.

The moment Rude entered the room, all energy within fled from him. Even Kang Su Jin felt sweat trickle down her back just standing before him.

No matter how much he ranked number one worldwide, Seongjeon was a holy guild—and Rude, the embodiment of evil. His aura of malice was so overwhelming it surpassed even the divine energy saturating the guild.

Unaware that Rude’s very appearance was merely an avatar—an even more monstrous aspect—the Guild Master sighed inwardly. She placed the paper on the table and began speaking.

“I’ve carefully reviewed the conditions you initially proposed, Mr. Rude. First, you want a one-year contract instead of permanent employment. We won’t inquire about any information beyond what you’ve already disclosed. Media control is mandatory… and all your other stipulations are feasible.”

“That works out well, then.”
