Regret With All Your Might (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 37
Essela followed Olivia down the stairs of the ducal mansion. Servants they passed bowed their heads to Olivia.
Each time their steps paused, the clacking of Essela’s and Olivia’s heels echoed clearly, overlapping yet distinct.
Was it because their heels clicked past each other so perfectly? Or because of this ambiguous distance between her and her older sister? Essela measured the space between herself and Olivia with her eyes.
Exactly three steps.
A vague distance—close enough to almost touch if she reached out her hand. If she stretched her arm fully, she could probably catch up to her sister walking ahead…
Essela bit her lip hard. Clenching her fist tightly, her nails dug faintly into her palm.
She couldn’t tell what expression Olivia wore as she walked elegantly and upright. Just moments ago, she’d been sitting right beside Olivia.
Where had things gone wrong?
Essela lowered her head glumly, recalling what had just happened.
She’d been hugging Olivia when suddenly her throat went dry, prompting a dry cough. She’d moved slightly away to drink some cold tea. When their eyes met again, both had reddened eyes—and even managed a small smile.
Perhaps… she’d held onto a quiet hope.
That since her sister had forgiven her, they could see each other again as before. Or perhaps… if she dared wish a little more.
But the butler’s blunt words, arriving with a sharp knock, threw Essela back into reality.
“The young Duke Madelaine is at the front gate.”
Conrad had come looking for her. Over her previously buoyant mood, worry about Veronica and Sally rose. If her older brother knew, surely her father did too.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
