At the sound that Chae Yoon and Jae Oh had arrived, Ji Pil came out from his study.

As soon as he stepped into the living room, he heard Chae Yoon’s clear, cheerful laughter.

Walking toward the sound, Ji Pil’s eyes fell squarely on Jae Oh and Chae Yoon, cozily nestled together on the sofa.

‘Are they really that happy?’

He’d thought it only natural they’d be happy after confirming their feelings—but now, two years had already passed.

By now, they should’ve grown fairly accustomed to each other, and that fluttering excitement should’ve settled down, yet the two seemed unchanged from two years ago.

If anything, they appeared even more affectionate each time he saw them, and Ji Pil occasionally marveled at how they managed it. Still, it was far better than constant bickering, so Ji Pil approached them with a contented smile.

Sensing Ji Pil’s presence, Chae Yoon, who had been laughing at Jae Oh, turned her eyes toward him.

“Grandfather!”

Chae Yoon’s face brightened instantly upon seeing Ji Pil. Her sunbeam-like smile tugged Ji Pil’s lips into a gentle, indulgent curve.

“It feels like ages since I’ve seen you, Chae Yoon.”

For a moment, Chae Yoon’s mouth parted slightly, as if she’d just realized something.

“Oh, I haven’t been around much lately. I’m sorry.”

Back when she was learning under Ji Pil, they’d met almost daily, so she’d never made a special trip just to check in.

But three months ago, she’d transferred to the hotel planning team, and since then, she’d only occasionally phoned or visited Ji Pil. Even that had stopped properly a month ago.
