She turned the doorknob, but as expected, it was firmly locked. Biting her lip faintly, she turned around and made her way toward Kedilen’s bedroom.

She needed leverage—something concrete, something that would force Kedilen to let her go.

She knew well enough he wasn’t foolish enough to reveal such weakness, but if she did nothing, the suffocating frustration would surely drown her.
