In the Crown Prince’s bedroom within the imperial palace, long past bedtime.

Moonlight slipped through the gap in the curtains, casting itself upon the bed.

The white moonlight settled at the head of the bed, softly illuminating the face of the sleeping nine-year-old Crown Prince.

His face was astonishingly beautiful and bewitching—unusually so for a child.

His skin was smooth and luminous like porcelain. Glossy black bangs half-covered his straight forehead. Beneath thick, dignified eyebrows, his eyelids lay neatly closed.

Lush eyelashes cast shadows over his round cheeks—the only part of his face still betraying his youth. His nose was already perfectly straight and high, and his full, crimson lips exuded allure.

Each feature was exquisite on its own, and together they formed flawless proportions and magnificent harmony.

He slept perfectly upright, facing the ceiling without the slightest disturbance in his breathing—graceful beyond measure.

In an instant—

Flash.

The sleeping Crown Prince opened his eyes.

Beneath his lifted lashes, crimson irises gleamed. His gaze was strikingly sharp and clear, belying the fact he had just been asleep—fiery red yet icy and composed.

The Crown Prince quietly stretched his arm above his head, sliding it beneath his pillow.

His hand burrowed into the soft pillow and grasped the hilt of a hard metal sword.
