Meanwhile, Ronowe held a giant lollipop tightly in one hand, her face grave.

“After Her Highness the Crown Princess left the banquet hall, Beris and I went to get some cookies.”

Ronowe then slowly began retracing events from the awards ceremony onward.

“We were happily chattering away while snacking on all sorts of treats when suddenly everything around us turned gray.”

She explained that after witnessing my departure from the banquet hall by chance, and as the atmosphere naturally returned to its previous state—with those who wished to dance heading to the ballroom—she and Beris had casually withdrawn to the dessert table.

Though they could have continued dancing, holding a giant lollipop while gracefully dancing seemed impractical; moreover, having unknowingly burned through her energy in a burst of enthusiasm, she simply wanted to rest while enjoying sweet treats.

Thus, while they were happily sampling various delicacies and exchanging compliments about my earlier performance with passing nobles, the incident occurred.

At first, Ronowe admitted she didn’t understand why only Beris and she remained unaffected, but soon she sharply turned her head toward the banquet hall.
