I stopped Freyrie from lunging at Sasha in anger. I understood she was upset about the Primordial Key being damaged, but taking it out on the wrong person was truly unsightly. I didn’t particularly intend to defend or protect Sasha, but Freyrie’s current behavior didn’t sit right with me.

Even when disciplining someone—whether out of anger or correction—one should first hear their reasoning before administering punishment. I narrowed my eyes slightly and tugged his arm downward; Freyrie responded by gritting her teeth. After a moment, she stepped back a few paces and rubbed the wrist I’d gripped tightly, clicking her tongue in irritation.

Her reluctant restraint clearly indicated that Sasha was the one directly responsible for managing the Primordial Key. If Freyrie herself had been overseeing it, she wouldn’t have asked whether an outsider had been let in.

Conversely, if Freyrie had secretly taken the key herself and hidden it somewhere without telling me, she would have noticed its abnormal state immediately.
