No Evil Lady in the World (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 37
Just then, Ariante’s voice calling out from inside the room was also heard.
“Meiana! What are you doing?”
Meiana gave a quick nod as if to say, ‘You heard that, right?’ before hurrying into the room and hugging Ariante. Ariante pouted her lips and lightly thumped Meiana’s shoulder as if acting spoiled.
“What if Father is waiting for us?”
At those words, Gretel’s expression hardened even further. She now looked little different from the statues scattered throughout the duke’s garden—her face ashen, her eyes fixed unblinkingly on Ariante…
Ariante was not the sort to miss that look. The child briefly glanced toward Gretel, then wrapped her arms familiarly around Meiana’s neck and spoke teasingly.
“Gretel, we’re going to the village now. Sounds nice, right? Father’s coming along too.”
Ariante hadn’t said that with any particular intent. As usual, it was simply her habit of being slightly impudent toward the staff—this time, just a bit excited and showing off. Yet Gretel seemed utterly unable to bear it. Biting her lower lip tightly, she forced a smile and looked at Ariante.
“How wonderful for you, Lady Ariante. Next time, I’ll accompany you myself.”
Still leaning against Meiana, Ariante blinked as if puzzled.
“Why would I go with you? I don’t want to go with you. I’m going with Meiana.”
Meiana almost felt she could hear the sound of Gretel’s patience shattering into pieces. She quickly adjusted her hold on Ariante and turned slightly toward Gretel.
“Then we’ll be off. We should be back before lunch, I think.”
Gretel didn’t reply. She didn’t even turn her head to bid Ariante a safe trip… Meiana swallowed hard and hurried her steps.
The key now was whether Beinti had successfully stirred Gretel up enough—and whether Gretel would indeed cause the trouble as planned.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
