The man, who wiped the amusement from his face and now stared dryly and expressionlessly, showed no sign of offering any further kindness.

Yu Jin still wore a displeased look, but to avoid the capricious man’s unpredictable mood swings, she quickly turned and left.

Only after watching Yu Jin walk away and the office door close behind her did the man finally let his icy gaze soften.

The unexpected intrusion, coupled with the tiresome conversation with Yu Jin, had brought on inexplicable irritation and exhaustion.

Just as the man gave a soft, mocking chuckle and covered his dry eyes with a hand, a commotion from beyond the thick door—normally impervious to ordinary noise—shattered his moment of rest.

This floor belonged to Ki Yeon. His office, secretarial suite, multiple meeting rooms, and reception lounge—all operated under Ki Yeon’s authority.

The master of this floor detested loud disturbances. Anyone assisting him would naturally know this basic rule. Yet, how should he deal with such ridiculous behavior unfolding right now?

Ki Yeon remained silent, sunk into the sofa. Though his eyes were neatly closed, his mind buzzed busily behind his taut forehead.

Then came a sharp, impatient knock—*tap tap!*—that grated against his eardrums.

“Yes.”

After a long pause, Ki Yeon permitted the visitor to enter. The door burst open, and two guests barged in.

“Why’d you follow me in? If you’re done, get out!”
