Joo Hyuk returned to the prosecution office earlier than scheduled after being discharged from the hospital. He then headed straight to the Chief Prosecutor’s office. The Chief Prosecutor glanced sideways at Joo Hyuk’s condition, inwardly hoping to hear the exact words he wanted.

“So, how’s your health?”

“I’m feeling much better.”

In response to the Chief Prosecutor’s perfunctory question, Joo Hyuk gave an equally formal reply.

“Good. Have you had time to think while resting? You’re the only one in our Criminal Division who hasn’t submitted a statement yet—Prosecutor Choi.”

It wasn’t that everyone wrote statements just because they disliked Prosecutor Jin Ra In. Even junior prosecutors who usually didn’t care about others’ affairs had been pressured by the Chief Prosecutor into writing statements.

“I’ll do it.”

Now that Ra In was acting as she pleased, Joo Hyuk felt he no longer needed to worry about whose side he appeared to be on.

“You’ll write it? A statement?”

Unable to hide his delight, the Chief Prosecutor broke into a wide grin.

“Ah, so getting stabbed at Prosecutor Jin’s house finally knocked some sense into you? Good decision.”

“No.”

The Chief Prosecutor paused and looked back at Joo Hyuk, utterly confused about his intentions.

“I’ll appear as a witness.”
