Joo Hyuk wanted to ask, “Do you even know that Ra In ended up like this because of you?!” but even that wounded his pride—because he knew it was also his fault for failing to protect Ra In. He swallowed his words and regained his composure.

“Take your internal conflicts at Taesung back to your own office. And please come back with a unified position, one way or another.”

Song Kang couldn’t particularly argue against his point—it was accurate—but he couldn’t help feeling irritated.

If things were going to be like this, he’d have no choice but to criticize the prosecution’s stance as well. Just as Song Kang was about to press further, Joo Hyuk continued his explanation.

“In the written statement submitted by Taesung, they confirmed the signature is indeed Director Na Song Gang’s. They also stated that not even a single won of company funds can be disbursed without Director Na Song Gang’s approval. Furthermore, they largely acknowledged that the gifts were unavoidably delivered to promote the prosperity of the Taesung Art Museum.”

Joo Hyuk recited other allegations Taesung was making against Song Kang. These were exactly the things Song Kang had wanted to hear. The Head of Legal Affairs fidgeted anxiously, pulling out a handkerchief to wipe his cold sweat.

“I actually intended to ask about the scope of those gifts today, but we’ve clearly ruined the schedule now. For that, I sincerely apologize. You may go now.”

As Prosecutor Choi Joo Hyuk turned to leave, Song Kang called out to stop him.

“Prosecutor Choi Joo Hyuk.”

“The primary fault for disrupting today’s schedule lies with our side at Taesung. I apologize. Once you’ve sorted things out, please reschedule, and we’ll cooperate fully and in good faith.”

Soothed by Song Kang’s sincere apology, Joo Hyuk’s irritation softened. Director Na Song Gang and his legal team calmly exited the interrogation recording room.

“How generous, composed, and dignified~.”

An exclamation slipped from a prosecutor’s office staff member who had entered to tidy up the recording room, irritating Joo Hyuk.

“Prosecutor, weren’t you nervous facing off against Director Na Song Gang?”
