My Husband's Scandal (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
“Grandma.”
“My dear child is here. You said it’d be a few days before you had time. I’m so glad you came.”
As Yoon opened the front door and stepped inside, Ok Soon greeted her warmly, drying her hands with a towel.
“Grandfather’s on night shift this week, right?”
Yoon was so happy to see Ok Soon after several days that she quickly ran over and hugged her.
“Yes.”
Ok Soon patted Yoon’s back gently.
“That must be tough on you.”
“It’s not like it’s just one or two days—I’m fine. Go wash your hands and sit down. I’ve boiled noodles for you. I timed it right for your arrival; you got here perfectly.”
Ok Soon smiled broadly and headed toward the kitchen.
“I’ll get the side dishes.”
“Just sit down, I told you.”
“I’ll do it.”
Yoon wrung out the dishcloth tightly, wiped the table, took the side dish containers from the fridge, and arranged them on plates.
“I only got home a little while ago, so I didn’t have time to prepare anything besides noodles. I should’ve made some pancakes too.”
“Why would you make pancakes in this heat?”
“Still… Anyway, how was the wedding? When will the photos be ready? You must’ve looked absolutely stunning, my Yoon.”
“I got my good looks from you, Grandma—of course I looked great! Everyone said I looked like a celebrity.”
Yoon beamed at Ok Soon, who fondly stroked Yoon’s cheek with a pleased smile.
“You’re far prettier than any of those so-called actresses. And all dolled up like that, you must’ve been even more beautiful.”
“I’ll bring the wedding photos to you once they’re ready.”
Yoon sighed quietly to herself. What on earth could have been such a good reason that the two of them couldn’t attend her wedding?
True, it was a contract marriage—but they didn’t know that. It had been weighing heavily on her heart that they’d missed her wedding.
A few weeks ago, Kim Seo Jung had called her, saying she’d buy her clothes.
“I’m buying you something decent so you don’t embarrass us by showing up at your in-laws’ looking like a beggar.”
Back then, Yoon had asked Seo Jung about Ok Soon and Ho Sik attending the wedding.
“Why would you invite those people? So tacky. Aren’t you embarrassed?”
“Please stop.”
She’d asked just in case—but she didn’t need to hear that kind of thing from Seo Jung.
Afraid they’d only be looked down on if Ho Sik and Ok Soon came to the wedding, Yoon never brought it up again after that.
Remembering that unpleasant memory, Yoon shook her head to clear it away.
“We didn’t give you anything when you got married.”
Ok Soon sighed as she rinsed the noodles in cold water.
“You raised me so well—that’s more than enough.”
Yoon said as she placed the rinsed noodles into a bowl.
“But… you’re only moving your own body into that house, right? Congressman Seo didn’t provide any furniture or anything?”
“Everything’s already there at the house.”
“I see.”
A moment later, Yoon slurped down Ok Soon’s signature radish-top noodles with single-minded focus.
“How is it? Tasty?”
“Absolutely delicious.”
Yoon nodded vigorously, even giving a thumbs-up. Only then did Ok Soon, who had been directing the fan solely at Yoon, finally take a bite of her own noodles.
“What about Mr. Cha?”
“He starts filming again the day after tomorrow, so he’s resting today. Oh—but since I’m here, I’ll sign you up for an OTT service so you can watch his drama.”
“Alright. But what’s the drama about?”
“Well… it’s about punishing bad people and…”
The two leaned close over the small table, eating noodles and chatting happily for a long while. Yoon spoke softly, and her grandmother couldn’t take her eyes off her dear granddaughter.
“Oh, I brought you a gift.”
Yoon untied the gift bundle.
“What’s all this? You bought so much! How much did this cost?”
Trending
“I got it cheap—just some skincare and vitamins.”
“Why did you buy me skincare? Your aunties just gave me some recently…”
Ok Soon began, then suddenly seemed to realize what she’d said and clamped her mouth shut.
Yoon disliked her great-aunts. They always treated Ok Soon disrespectfully.
Because Ok Soon had given birth only to a daughter and no sons, she felt guilty for “ending the family line,” and as a result, always lowered herself before her sisters-in-law, Yoon’s great-aunts.
“They didn’t give you something useless again, did they?”
“N-no… They said this was expensive this time.”
Hearing that, Yoon immediately got up and went into the bedroom where Ok Soon’s dressing table was.
“They said it’s from a famous brand…”
Ok Soon watched Yoon’s expression nervously and stammered on.
But Yoon immediately frowned when she saw the products. Clearly marked with a counterfeit name from a well-known brand, the items looked visibly old.
“20XX?”
Sure enough, the expiration date was two years past. Yoon checked it over and over, wondering if she’d misread it.
It was definitely the expiration date, not the manufacturing date.
“How many years have these been rolling around that house?!”
Not only were they expired—they weren’t even genuine products. Yoon grabbed them and tossed them straight into the trash bin.
“Why’d you do that?”
Ok Soon asked, startled.
“Grandma, these expired two years ago! From now on, don’t accept anything your aunties give you—not clothes, not cosmetics. I’ll buy you everything you need.”
Yoon was furious. Just because the great-aunts were slightly better off, they openly disrespected Ok Soon like this all the time.
Once, they’d even given her a coat that was over twenty years old, claiming it was from a department store. Yoon had thrown that straight into a trash bag too.
“Were they really unusable?”
“Yes.”
Seeing Yoon’s angry expression, Ok Soon’s spirits instantly sank. Yoon took her hand.
“I’m earning money now, so we’ll be living well soon. Please don’t accept things like that anymore.”
Last year, she hadn’t prepared enough and failed the exam—but this year, she was confident she’d pass. She absolutely had to. For Ho Sik and Ok Soon.
Seeing Yoon so upset, Ok Soon simply lowered her head.
“Want more noodles?”
“No, I’m full. But… how’s your knee?”
Ok Soon had suffered for years from persistent knee pain. She occasionally went to the hospital for injections, but they only helped temporarily.
“It’s gotten much better.”
“You need surgery.”
Yoon was always worried about her grandmother’s fragile knees.
“It’s not that bad yet.”
She kept putting it off because getting surgery might cost her the building cleaning job she currently had.
“Ugh—just try the vitamins I brought. They’re supposed to be good for joints.”
“Really? Okay, I’ll be sure to take them. By the way—did you tell Mr. Cha you were coming here?”
“Yes. He wanted to come with me, but I told him to come next time instead.”
Ok Soon jumped up in alarm.
“What? Oh dear! Why would he come here? Don’t bring him next time either. What would he do in our shabby little home? He’d probably look around and secretly curse us. And he might look down on you too!”
She remembered how Young Hoon had frowned the one time he visited their house. She’d worried for days afterward that maybe Yoon had been abandoned precisely because they lived like this.
“Ugh—anyone who thinks like that is the strange one! And what’s so shabby about our house? I love it here the most. It feels peaceful and wonderful just being home. Grandma… can I stay here tonight?”
Yoon nuzzled her face against Ok Soon’s hand. Her grandmother’s rough hands were always warm.
“What are you talking about? After your honeymoon, you leave your husband at home and stay here instead? Go home before it gets too late. Don’t you have to pay respects to your in-laws tomorrow?”
“Yeah…”
Yoon replied in a deflated tone.
‘I want to hold Grandma’s hand and sleep.’
Fancy apartment or not—Yoon knew that wherever Ok Soon was, that was home.
“Oh—let me show you the photos from Bali.”
Yoon showed Ok Soon the pictures Cheol Young had taken. Ok Soon, whose eyesight was getting blurry, even fetched her reading glasses to look closely.

Yoon also pulled out a Polaroid she’d taken on the swing. Though the photo had been expensive, it turned out so beautifully that she didn’t feel it was a waste at all. Cheol Young had clapped, saying he looked amazing too.
“Oh my goodness—who’s this? Is that you? Goodness! You’re truly beautiful.”
Ok Soon adjusted her reading glasses and examined the swing photo with a wide smile.
“Yeah—turned out nice, right?”
“Yes! Absolutely stunning. But… where’s Mr. Cha?”
“He’s famous even overseas, so we couldn’t walk around together. I went around with the manager instead.”
Yoon lied, worried Ok Soon would feel sad if she knew Kang Hyun had only worked during their honeymoon.
“I see. It must be hard having a husband who’s a famous actor. Leave the photos here—I’ll show them to Grandfather too.”
“Okay.”
Ok Soon couldn’t take her eyes off the photo of Yoon sitting on the swing, hair blowing in the breeze, smiling brightly. It truly felt miraculous that such a beautiful granddaughter had come into their lives.
In the end, because Ok Soon kept urging her, Yoon had no choice but to return to Kang Hyun’s apartment not long after dinner.
As befitting one of the finest buildings in Hannam-dong, Kang Hyun’s apartment had tight security—no one could enter freely.
Yoon slowly walked toward the entrance, gazing up at the imposing building. True to its reputation, even the landscaping was impressive.
She walked as slowly as possible, enjoying the scenery. The scorching daytime heat had cooled somewhat by evening, making it a pleasant time for a stroll.
August would arrive in just a few days. Before she knew it, she’d passed the halfway point of the year. In just a few more months, her teaching appointment results would be announced.
Since she was home anyway, she’d also picked up some books she’d forgotten last time—so the bag on her back was quite heavy.
On top of that, she’d bought a small desk and carried it all the way here, leaving her arms sore.
Though there was a dressing table in her room, the large mirror directly in front made it uncomfortable for studying.
Exhausted, Yoon sat on a bench, placing her bag and the desk down beside her. Just then, the apartment’s lights suddenly flickered on all at once.
‘I’m definitely going to pass the appointment exam this year. And three years will fly by—I’ll be able to live with Grandfather and Grandma again.’
The beautiful lights illuminated the weary Yoon, and her eyes began to sparkle along with them.

So Yi’s popularity had skyrocketed—she’d shot over ten commercials in just a few months. Today, she was shooting a print campaign for a clothing brand she’d recently become the face of.
“Hey—I told you to be gentle!”
So Yi glared at the staff member touching her hair. Recently, her agency had assigned her three dedicated staff members.
She thought it only natural—these days, every move she made became headline news; she was that hot of a star.
‘Who is she? An actress? Or maybe a girl group idol?’
So Yi was dying to know who that woman with Kang Hyun in Bali really was.
‘Does he like that type? His rumored ex, Jung Ha Na, was the sexy type… Did his taste change?’
Thinking of Yoon’s pure, clear face, So Yi suddenly felt a surge of irritation.
“Hey—I said it hurts! Are you doing this on purpose?”
So Yi shouted sharply at the much older staff member styling her hair.
The staff member, flustered, could only repeat, “I’m sorry!”
“Oppa!”
So Yi even called her manager—and soon after, the staff member was forced to leave the waiting room in tears after So Yi threw a hairbrush at her.

Yoon carefully entered Kang Hyun’s apartment. The place was as silent as a temple. Cheol Young didn’t seem to be home yet either.
Assuming Kang Hyun was asleep, she tiptoed up to the second floor and quietly slipped into her room.
Inside, she unpacked the small desk and placed it beside her bed. Then she neatly arranged her books on the floor next to it. Her old laptop sat atop the desk.
Ding!
Her phone rang. It was Young Hoon. Seeing the caller ID, Yoon immediately pressed the end-call button.
When she didn’t answer, a text message followed.
‘Why is he doing this?’
They’d already broken up—and besides, Young Hoon was now dating Shin Joo. What reason could he possibly have to call her?
Another text arrived. Eventually, Yoon called him back—she knew he’d keep texting if she didn’t.
“Sunbae, what’s this about?”
—Hey! Yoon-ah, you doing well?
Young Hoon’s voice came through the phone, warm and familiar—as if they’d been talking just yesterday.
—Studying hard? Listen, I bought some books I thought you might need. Can I bring them over? Are you home?
“No, I can buy my own books. And I’m not home right now.”

—Oh? Then where are you?
“Ugh, sunbae…”
Yoon sighed. Him suddenly offering to give her books was ridiculous.
—It’s just… I’ve been a little worried about you, that’s all.
“I’m fine. And honestly, please don’t call or text me anymore. It’s uncomfortable.”
—Alright, but… You know I hate hurting anyone, right? I feel bad thinking I might’ve hurt you. Can’t we at least go back to how it was before—me watching over you as your sunbae…?
His constant back-and-forth made Yoon feel increasingly distant from him. Plain and simple—he was only doing this to ease his own conscience.
“Sunbae, we dated and broke up. We can’t go back to being just sunbae and hoobae. And you’re seeing Teacher Min now. If she finds out you’re contacting me like this, she’ll be upset. So please don’t call me anymore. That’s why I called—to say this. I’m hanging up now.”
After saying her piece, Yoon ended the call—and immediately blocked Young Hoon’s number.
He’d broken up with her, saying their different backgrounds made marriage impossible, yet now claimed that being sunbae and hoobae had nothing to do with backgrounds? She was speechless.
“So this is the kind of person he really is.”
Yoon realized she either had terrible judgment of character—or Young Hoon had simply hidden his true self well all along.
And with his indecisiveness like this, she knew she had to draw a clear line.
Just as expired items belong in the trash—their relationship had already been discarded long ago.

Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
