My Husband's Scandal (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 13
Kang Hyun lifted his nearly reclined body, then raised one long leg and casually crossed it over the other. The motion caused his robe to part, fully exposing his thigh.
‘Huh!’
Yoon had no choice but to shut her eyes again.
‘Let me test whether you’re really this innocent or just pretending.’
Watching Yoon’s flustered expression, Kang Hyun suddenly felt a mischievous urge—one he hadn’t even had back in elementary school.
“Have you ever slept with a guy?”
Kang Hyun murmured quietly, looking at Yoon, who still kept her eyes tightly shut.
“…….”
At his words, Yoon clenched her teeth.
“Seriously? You’re twenty-four already. Haven’t you even dated anyone?”
Kang Hyun’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“I’ve dated before, but…”
Then, realizing she was getting dragged into his game and saying unnecessary things, Yoon quickly clamped her mouth shut again.
“What? You dated but never slept together? Were you even really dating a guy?”
“Not everyone sleeps together just because they’re dating.”
Yoon snapped back indignantly.
“You date so you can sleep together.”
Seeing Yoon snap back with her eyes still tightly shut made Kang Hyun want to tease her even more.
“What?”
“Aren’t you an adult? Isn’t that just normal? It’s not like it’s a crime. You’re surprisingly old-fashioned.”
“Not having done it isn’t a crime either.”
Annoyed again by being called old-fashioned, Yoon opened her eyes—but immediately gasped in shock upon seeing his bare thigh and quickly covered her eyes with her hands.
“It’s not a crime, but you’re honestly kind of pitiful.”
“How is that pitiful?”
Completely bewildered, Yoon looked at him. Kang Hyun licked his lips quickly and spoke.
“How about doing it today, then?”
Yoon was taken aback by Kang Hyun’s unfamiliar behavior.
“No. I’ll wait until I meet someone I really like…”
“It’s fine. He’ll understand. So it’s good to practice with me first.”
With that, Kang Hyun suddenly stood up and leaped over the table with his long legs. Startled, Yoon also jumped up and hurried around the table back to the spot where Kang Hyun had originally been sitting.
“Why are you acting like this?”
Pale-faced, Yoon wore an expression of outright refusal. In response, Kang Hyun circled around the table toward her again, and Yoon quickly shuffled back to Kang Hyun’s original seat.
“Are we playing tag? Why do you keep running away? Am I going to eat you up?”
Kang Hyun, baffled, finally reached out and grabbed her.
“Sit down. I won’t eat you.”
He pulled her onto the sofa and sat right beside her.
“Then I’ll sit over there.”
Uncomfortable sitting so close to him, Yoon tried to stand again—but this time, Kang Hyun stretched out his arm and wrapped it around her shoulder.
“Just stay here.”
“Why are you doing this?”
Yoon pushed his arm away.
“What do you mean, ‘why’? I’m your husband.”
Kang Hyun rested his arm back over her shoulder.
“Um…”
As Yoon squirmed to escape his embrace, Kang Hyun this time pulled her fully into his lap. Her small body was drawn right against his chest.
“Why do you keep avoiding me like this?”
Nearly buried in Kang Hyun’s broad chest, Yoon’s ears turned completely red.
She tried to push against his chest but, startled by the feel of bare skin, immediately dropped her hands.
“You’re practically treating me like some pervert. It’s just that everything still feels awkward between us. That’s why we need to get comfortable quickly.”
Yoon peeked open her eyes and looked up at Kang Hyun—only to see his mischievous grin.

This man was playing with her. Realizing this, her mood began to sour little by little.
“I had no idea your hobby was tormenting other people, Mr. Cha Kang Hyun.”
Yoon glared at him as she spoke.
“Tormenting? It’s our honeymoon—I’m just trying to hold my wife.”
Kang Hyun wore a wronged expression. He found it oddly amusing that Yoon, who usually showed only a blank or tense face, was now glaring at him outright.
“I can’t breathe.”
Seeing Yoon even gasping for breath now, Kang Hyun finally let go of the arms he’d wrapped around her. The moment he did, Yoon swiftly slipped out of his embrace and darted toward the balcony.
Though the sun had set and darkness had thickened, the illuminated infinity pool shimmered, welcoming her.
“Now it’s a game of chase?”
Kang Hyun also stood up from the sofa and slowly approached Yoon. Watching her dodge him this way reminded him of a kitten his aunt had raised back when he was young.
It had been a soft, fluffy little thing—adorable, always running away just like Yoon whenever someone tried to pick it up.
“You’re being surprisingly annoying. On our very first night, you’re really going to reject me like this?”
Kang Hyun stopped advancing and crossed his arms, his face flushed with irritation.
He didn’t even understand why he felt so compelled to tease her—but the more Yoon kept running away, the more he wanted to catch her.
“Mr. Cha Kang Hyun, we’re in a contract marriage.”
To keep a safe distance from Kang Hyun, Yoon kept stepping back slightly. Somehow, his behavior no longer seemed like mere teasing.
“But we’re still husband and wife for three years, at least.”
“We’re not husband and wife—we’re just cohabitants.”
Yoon regretted not including a clear clause about sleeping arrangements in their contract.
“Same thing.”
Kang Hyun closed the distance Yoon had carefully maintained.
“Don’t come closer.”
Yoon retreated further as Kang Hyun approached.
“Is this balcony yours?”
“Then I’ll go inside.”
“Go ahead.”
But Kang Hyun didn’t seem about to step aside. In fact, he even spread his arms wide, as if cornering a rabbit.
Though his expression remained as cold as ever, there was a faint trace of amusement in his eyes.
Seeing that look, Yoon realized once again he was just teasing her—but still hesitated to come near him.
Maybe it was the setting, but something felt different between them now.
After all, this was a honeymoon suite meant for newlyweds, just the two of them alone at night. Yoon continued backing away.
Meanwhile, Kang Hyun grew increasingly irritated as Yoon kept dodging him. Worse, her eyes were filled with outright terror—as if she were looking at a pervert.
“Are you scared of me?”
Kang Hyun was incredulous. Other women went crazy trying to cling to him, yet Yoon couldn’t run away fast enough. This was a completely unfamiliar situation for him.
Strangely, the more she avoided him, the more he wanted to close in.
“It’s not that…”
“Come here.”
Kang Hyun held out his hand.
“Why are you doing this?”
Yoon even spread both arms to block him, prompting Kang Hyun to suddenly yell.
“For crying out loud! Anyone watching would think I’m actually trying to eat you. I was just teasing because you kept acting so horrified. Fine. Fine. I get it. I’ll go inside. Happy?”
Grumbling, Kang Hyun turned away. Only then did Yoon let out a subtle sigh of relief.
But just as he headed inside, Kang Hyun suddenly spun around, grinned, and strode quickly toward her.
“Kyah!”
Startled, Yoon lost her balance and stumbled backward. Seeing this, Kang Hyun rushed forward to grab her arm—but Yoon toppled backward over the edge and plunged into the pool.
“Aaah!”
Though the water wasn’t deep, she’d fallen straight back and couldn’t regain balance, flailing helplessly and screaming.
Seeing Yoon shriek in panic, Kang Hyun immediately tore off his robe and dived into the water.
Swimming to Yoon, he lifted her up, and she clung tightly to his neck, her arms and legs wrapping around him.
“Huh-huh!”

She kept coughing—apparently having swallowed some water. Kang Hyun gently patted her back.
“Can’t swim?”
“Cough… No.”
Yoon coughed again. She now had her legs wrapped tightly around his waist too.
Afraid he might let her go, she hugged his broad shoulders even more tightly, burying her face into them.
Just moments ago, his imposing shoulders had scared her—but now they felt like her lifeline.
In truth, the water only came up to her chest, but in her panic, it felt like a bottomless abyss.
For his part, Kang Hyun found it oddly amusing—and not unpleasant—that Yoon, who had been avoiding him all this time, now clung to him so desperately she wouldn’t let go.
She seemed terrified that letting go of him meant certain death. The more she clung to him, the more pitiful she looked—so he held her even tighter.
“Do you have aquaphobia or something?”
Concerned as Yoon began trembling, Kang Hyun asked.
“No.”
But she felt like she might develop aquaphobia now—water kept flooding into her mouth and nose as she flailed, making her feel like she was dying.
Not being able to hold onto anything or trust anything was pure terror.
“I think I’m okay now.”
Yoon’s coughing subsided, her voice steadier.
“I want to get out.”
Regaining her senses, she found their current position deeply embarrassing. But unable to gauge the depth properly, she couldn’t dare to loosen her arms or legs—leaving her stuck and flustered.
“Now that we’re already in, want to swim a bit? I’ll teach you.”
Kang Hyun chuckled softly and whispered into her ear.
“No. I just want to get out.”
His breath tickled her, so Yoon pressed her shoulder against her ear to block it. Besides, their bodies were pressed together far too intimately.
Glancing down quickly, she saw—as expected—that her thin white T-shirt had soaked through and clung to her body, leaving her underwear clearly visible.
‘Oh no.’
Her ears burned hot.
Kang Hyun had started this as a joke too, but now the situation embarrassed even him. He’d thought she was lean, but she had more volume than he’d expected.
Feeling her damp, silky hair and soft skin against him, his mind began to blur.
“Uh, yeah. Let’s get out.”
As if reminding himself, Kang Hyun lifted her out of the water. Once outside, Yoon’s legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the floor.
“You okay?”
Kang Hyun followed her out quickly and helped her up.
“…I’m fine.”
Exhausted, Yoon barely managed to speak. Then, catching sight of Kang Hyun in nothing but his underwear, she quickly averted her gaze.
So he hadn’t been completely naked under the robe after all—at least he’d worn underwear.
“How does your face turn red this fast? It’s amazing.”
Smiling at Yoon’s flushed face, Kang Hyun picked up his robe from the floor, put it back on, and went inside to fetch a large towel.
“Dry off first.”
As he handed her the towel, he glanced at her and cleared his throat awkwardly.
Dressed only in a thin T-shirt and shorts, Yoon’s soaked clothes clung tightly to her body, revealing every curve.
Feeling his gaze, Yoon quickly wrapped the towel around herself—but swayed a little dizzily.
“You should rest a bit before showering.”
Kang Hyun sat her down on the daybed on the balcony and plopped down right beside her.
Yoon flinched, but Kang Hyun spoke with feigned innocence.
“I got tired saving you, you know. It’s not easy pulling someone out of the water. So let’s just sit together and rest.”
Though there was plenty of space, Kang Hyun insisted on pressing right up against her. Yoon couldn’t bring herself to protest, so she just stayed quiet.
“You really need to learn how to swim. What if you fall in when I’m not around? Who’ll save you then?”
Yoon still looked pale—she’d clearly been badly shaken.
“Later… Hic!”
Suddenly, Yoon started hiccupping. Watching her, Kang Hyun stood and went inside.
“Drink this.”

He returned with a glass of water and handed it to her.
“Thank you.”
Taking the cup, Yoon shifted her bottom slightly to scoot away. Instantly, Kang Hyun pressed close again, as if refusing to be outdone.
“A moment ago, you were clinging to me, choking my neck—and now you’re keeping your distance? Don’t you see my neck right here?”
Indeed, Kang Hyun’s neck was now red. Yet, despite his grumbling, he looked oddly pleased.
“Then why did you tease me? Hic!”
Annoyed by his smug expression, Yoon shot him a glare.
“Because you kept acting so horrified—it was ridiculous.”
“That’s only because you kept saying weird things… Hic!”
Yoon mumbled, then hiccupped again.
“Don’t worry. I get it now. I have no intention of sleeping with you either. Just rest a bit and go shower quickly—don’t catch a cold and suffer later.”
Kang Hyun stood up.
“Yes. Hic!”
Yoon kept hiccupping. Just then, Kang Hyun—who’d been heading inside—suddenly spun around and thrust his face right into hers.
“Kyah! …Hic!”
“They say being startled stops hiccups. But that didn’t work at all.”
Kang Hyun winked at her again.
‘Huh.’
His behavior was so unfamiliar that Yoon was stunned. Cha Kang Hyun winking at her? Nothing could be more terrifying.
“Scared you, huh?”
Chuckling, Kang Hyun headed into the bathroom.
“Maybe I should ask to rewrite our contract. Hic!”
Yoon kept hiccupping as she watched him walk away.
Meanwhile, inside the bathroom, Kang Hyun recalled Yoon hiccupping and smiled to himself.
“She’s got cute sides after all. Must’ve been pretty popular with guys.”
Then he remembered how she’d indignantly insisted she’d dated before.
“You’ve dated before? Then why did that guy just leave you alone like that? Seriously! What a loser—he must’ve been missing something. How can she be so naïve and still end up with some idiot like that? Tsk!”
