My Husband's Scandal (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 12
Having finished his evening shoot smoothly and earlier than expected, Kang Hyun entered the suite where Yoon was waiting.
Yoon had been sitting on the sofa, but stood up abruptly the moment he walked in. She cautiously studied his expression.
‘He must be mad. Did he get upset because I went out having fun while he was working?’
After a quick search, she found that Ubud wasn’t too far away and had many temples worth visiting, so she decided to go.
As she was walking toward a taxi, Cheol Young suddenly appeared and insisted on accompanying her out of concern.
Though she’d expected it to be hot in summer, it was surprisingly cool—perhaps because it was the dry season—so they first explored the Ubud market.
There, Cheol Young insisted that if you come to Bali, you absolutely have to try the swing, and took her there. After waiting in line for a long time, they finally rode it and even took some “lifeproof” photos.
Just then, Kang Hyun called Cheol Young. When she checked her own phone, she saw he’d also missed her.
So they canceled their other plans and hurried back to the resort—only to find he was still busy filming the drama.
They’d rushed back, worried something serious had happened, but nothing was wrong, leaving Cheol Young and Yoon feeling utterly bewildered.
“Did you enjoy the swing?”
Kang Hyun’s voice dripped with sarcasm, unusually low and heavy.
“Ah… Yes.”
Yoon replied, avoiding his gaze.
“You must’ve had fun. Well, at least someone should’ve had fun.”
Even as he said this, Kang Hyun knew he hadn’t handled things well either.
On their honeymoon, no matter how much it was ‘work,’ how absurd must it seem to her—a husband spending an entire day with another woman?
He hadn’t shown her even a shred of consideration. At first, he hadn’t even realized this; he’d never been good at thinking about or caring for others.
But gradually, he’d started worrying about her, especially imagining her alone in the room, and began feeling guilty.
Then he found out she’d actually been having a great time with Cheol Young—and for some reason, that made him deeply irritated.
“You were planning to go out alone?”
Kang Hyun cracked his neck from side to side with a sharp snap. The eerie sound made Yoon flinch.
“I thought I could just take a taxi…”
Yoon mumbled, again avoiding his eyes and staring at the table.
“Who told you that?”
“Some travel blog.”
“A blog?”
“Yes. Since it was my first time in Bali… I only wanted to look around a bit. But I guess I was being naive. You’re angry because I went out while you were working, right, Kang Hyun?”
“What?”
Kang Hyun let out a dry laugh at Yoon’s absurd response. She always caught him off guard—thinking he was mad just because she’d gone out alone.
“If you leave without telling me, wouldn’t I be worried? And this isn’t even Korea.”
His tone softened slightly as he spoke.
“I was about to text Director Kwak before heading out, but he insisted on coming along…”
Yoon suddenly realized how alarming it must’ve seemed for her to vanish like that.
“Why text Director Kwak? You should’ve told me directly.”
Kang Hyun’s voice rose again.
‘Is Director Kwak my husband now or what? Did sticking them together in Bali make her confused?’
Even though he himself had assigned Cheol Young to accompany her, Kang Hyun felt an inexplicable irritation.
“I thought you seemed busy…”
“Busy or not, from now on tell me everything yourself. Understand?”
“Yes.”
Seeing Yoon shrink back again, Kang Hyun lowered his voice a little.
“You know no one’s aware we’re on our honeymoon, right?”
“Yes.”
“It’s not that it has to stay secret, but since we didn’t announce it from the start, it’d be awkward if it got out.”
“That’s why I tried to leave quietly…”
“Well, I suppose you must’ve felt cooped up just staying in the room.”
Feeling hopeful that he understood, Yoon carefully observed his expression before speaking up.
“I… Then, what about tomorrow?”
She wanted to visit the temples she hadn’t gotten to see today.
Trending
“We’re flying back to Korea tomorrow afternoon.”
Her tentative hope instantly crumbled under his words.
“What? Why?”
Yoon’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Why? Because filming’s over, so we’re leaving.”
“Oh…”
Yoon slumped her shoulders, clearly disappointed.
“I see.”
Still, she tried to comfort herself—after all, she’d at least visited Ubud Market and ridden the swing today.
Watching Yoon mutter to herself and nod absentmindedly, Kang Hyun turned and headed toward the bathroom. Yoon’s eyes went wide.
“Are you staying here tonight?”
“Yeah.”
“Why?”
Yoon asked in surprise.
“Because this is my room.”
“Oh, right. Then I’ll sleep in the living room.”
He’d paid for everything, so it really was his room.
“Isn’t that obvious?”
“Yes.”
Yoon nodded. Seeing her calm, matter-of-fact expression, a playful glint suddenly sparked in Kang Hyun’s eyes.
“Oh, wait! We haven’t even had our wedding night yet.”
“What?”
Yoon stared at him in shock.
“Now that I think about it—we *are* on our honeymoon. I’ll be out after showering, so get ready.”
Kang Hyun winked, whistled a tune, and disappeared into the bathroom, leaving Yoon frozen like she’d been struck by a hammer, staring blankly at the closed door.
First, the wink from his grim face, then the “get ready” comment—it sent chills down her spine.
Meanwhile, inside the bathroom, Kang Hyun stripped off his clothes and turned on the shower.
‘Playing innocent, huh?’
Truth was, he hadn’t seriously considered sleeping with her. After all, he didn’t view this marriage as real—they’d become strangers again in three years, as clearly stated in their contract.
‘You’re not actually expecting something, are you?’
Mocking the thought of Yoon waiting for him outside, he took an extra-long shower, scrubbing away the lingering scent of Shin Young Joo’s overpowering perfume.
Back in the living room, Yoon fidgeted nervously, overwhelmed by anxiety. The sudden prospect of an unexpected wedding night had left her completely tense.
‘What do I do?’
Her mind felt utterly blank. While sharing a bed after marriage was normal, theirs wasn’t even a real wedding.
‘I should’ve clearly written in the contract that we wouldn’t sleep together.’
She hadn’t thought much about it earlier since Kang Hyun clearly didn’t like her—but somewhere she’d read that men could sleep with women they didn’t even care about.
‘Surely… No, he’s just joking.’
Yoon shook her head.
Just then—
Ding-dong!
The doorbell rang.
‘Is it Director Kwak?’
Yoon walked over and gently opened the door.
“Director?”
But when she saw who stood at the door, she gasped and covered her mouth in utter shock.

Chae So Yi had been eagerly hoping that after filming wrapped, they’d all—director, crew, and Kang Hyun—have a small drink together.
But Kang Hyun left, claiming he didn’t feel well, so everyone else returned to their own rooms.
‘Kang Hyun oppa must be in the suite.’
So Yi had seen Kang Hyun head to the suite after filming ended.

The previous night he’d stayed in the villa wing, but apparently he’d secretly booked a separate room in the suite all along.
Working with Kang Hyun—a Hallyu star—was a huge opportunity for her. Though she wasn’t his co-lead, she had many scenes together with him and had high hopes.
He truly was an incredibly attractive man—not just his looks, but also his voice. His deep, resonant tone perfectly complemented his appearance, magnifying his charm.
She’d thought sharing a drink tonight might help them grow closer, so his sudden departure left her deeply disappointed.
‘Should I go to his room?’
Since her Bali filming schedule was light, she hadn’t really had a proper conversation with him yet.
‘After all, better chemistry between actors improves the drama. And… he doesn’t seem entirely uninterested in me either.’
During the first script reading, when she’d stumbled nervously over her lines, Kang Hyun had kindly suggested taking a short break.
Everyone had been amazed—“You’re the first person Rude Kang Hyun’s ever shown this much consideration to!”—which had made her swell with pride.
‘Sure, he’s getting married, but nothing’s official yet. We could still get along fine.’
So Yi gathered her courage. At the front desk, they recognized her as part of Kang Hyun’s group and politely gave her directions.
Standing outside his suite, she adjusted her off-shoulder dress, touched up her makeup, and pressed the doorbell with elegant grace.
But when Yoon opened the door, So Yi could only stand there speechless.
‘What? He brought a woman?’
Utterly stunned, So Yi pinched the bridge of her nose and glared at Yoon, scanning her from head to toe.
‘Hah! Didn’t he just say he’s getting married soon? So the rumors about Cha Kang Hyun are true. What a piece of trash! That poor woman stuck marrying him—total zero manners, zero decency. Classic Cha Kang Hyun.’
Just moments ago fantasizing about a romantic night with him, So Yi now cursed him inwardly.
“What are you doing here?”
Yoon, puzzled, finally spoke up.
“Oh! I came to ask Kang Hyun oppa something, but I guess I can ask tomorrow instead.”
Afraid of running into Kang Hyun and getting on his bad side, So Yi quickly turned to leave. Despite his occasional kindness, he still intimidated her.
‘Never seen her before—probably a rookie. Not even that pretty. Cha Kang Hyun’s taste is seriously trash. Jerk! Hmph!’
Grumbling to herself, So Yi stomped back toward her own room.
***
‘Why’s Chae So Yi here?’
She’d opened the door without thinking, assuming it was Cheol Young—but it was Chae So Yi.
‘I really shouldn’t open the door so carelessly.’
Just then, the bathroom door opened, and Kang Hyun stepped out wearing only a loosely tied bathrobe, dripping wet hair tousled with a towel.
Yoon glanced at him absentmindedly—then gasped and spun around the moment she saw his bare chest exposed through the open robe.
“Aren’t you a teacher, not a student? Where’s this innocent act coming from?”
Kang Hyun scoffed at her reaction.
“Your robe’s completely open.”
“So?”
“P-please wear it properly.”
Yoon kept her eyes tightly shut as she stammered. Seeing her like that, Kang Hyun sighed and reluctantly closed his robe.
Then he stomped over to the fridge, grabbed a bottle of water, and collapsed onto the sofa.
“Um… Chae So Yi was just here.”
After hesitating a moment, Yoon finally spoke.
“Chae So Yi?”
“Yes. I thought it was Director Kwak when the bell rang, but it was Chae So Yi at the door. She seemed surprised to see me—what should I do?”
Kang Hyun’s face twisted in annoyance.
‘Is she out of her mind? Why’s she here? I should’ve cut her from the project early on. And this hotel just lets anyone up! Tch!’
Filming was already one-third done—he couldn’t fire her now, which was giving him a headache.
Maybe it was her youth, but she had no sense of boundaries. No matter how openly he showed his dislike, she kept calling him “oppa” and faking cutesy acts.
As the producer of this drama, he’d tolerated her so far—but even he didn’t know how much longer he could keep it up.
‘Now the tabloids will start spreading rumors again.’
Kang Hyun briefly considered calling the writer to kill off Chae So Yi’s character midway.
Watching him lost in thought, Yoon timidly approached and sat lightly on the edge of the opposite sofa.
“Um… I have something to say.”
She decided it was best to clarify their sleeping arrangement once and for all.

“Go ahead.”
Kang Hyun mumbled, eyes still glued to his phone.
“We did get married, but it’s a contract marriage. We’ll part ways after three years.”
Yoon spoke carefully.
“And?”
Still not looking up from his phone, Kang Hyun replied.
“So… I’d prefer if we didn’t sleep together.”
Only then did Kang Hyun finally lift his eyes from his phone and look at her—his gaze utterly devoid of emotion.
Seeing that cold look, Yoon regretted bringing it up, realizing he’d probably just been teasing her.
“You probably don’t want to sleep with me either…”
She continued softly, despite her doubts.
“Why do you think that?”
Suddenly, his eyes lit up with interest—as if he’d just discovered something intriguing.
“Actually…”
A faint smirk curled at the corner of his lips.
“What?”
Yoon’s eyes widened in astonishment.
“I *do* want to sleep with you.”

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
