My Husband's Lover (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 2
Even after returning home, Hae Yeon’s chest remained tight from the strange words Lee Su Rin had spoken. It was utterly incomprehensible.
She supposedly caused an accident. Me.
And it was against my husband, no less.
What’s more, I supposedly should’ve been divorced over it?
The final stroke to this mystery was Lee Su Rin’s last remark:
“You have the choice—either accept the chance I’ve given you to quietly step away once more, or be shamefully driven out.”
Thinking back on it again, that part wasn’t even laughable. Yet what troubled her so deeply was Lee Su Rin’s mention of “the accident a year ago.” She had slowly replayed last year’s events in her mind all the way home, but nothing unusual came to mind.
Considering how composed Lee Su Rin had been in that moment—unlike herself—Hae Yeon moved. She needed to know. Unlike the other remarks, there was no reason for Lee Su Rin to tell her such an unbelievable lie about her having caused an accident.
Moreover, there was that inexplicable sensation she’d felt upon hearing the word “accident.” Hae Yeon shook her head.
“I have to look into this.”
She immediately turned on her laptop and typed “Cha Do Ha” into the portal site. He was the second son of the CEO of the major conglomerate “Gil Myeong Group” and managing director of his own business. His publicly known identity was that of a corporate heir. Thus, any accident or incident involving Do Ha would surely have been reported in the news.
“A traffic fender-bender?”
After keeping the laptop open for a long time, she found only one small, tabloid-style article. Although many news pieces mentioned Do Ha, only one seemed potentially connected to what Lee Su Rin had said.
It was a minor fender-bender where Do Ha had been driving himself, so the article wasn’t lengthy. There was no mention of significant damage inflicted upon or received from the other party.
“Why don’t I know about this?”
She’d never heard Do Ha mention a traffic accident last year. Given his personality, he might’ve chosen not to tell her to avoid worrying her, but his overbearing in-laws certainly wouldn’t have let their daughter-in-law remain ignorant. Hae Yeon blinked slowly, suddenly feeling as though she’d been dropped into unfamiliar territory.
Alone with her thoughts, Hae Yeon turned the laptop back on and typed Lee Su Rin into the search bar. To anyone’s eyes, Su Rin was exceptional—her grace and presence distinctly different from that of an ordinary person. True enough, her profile soon appeared.
“Mibon Foods.”
Lee Su Rin was the planning director of “Mibon Foods,” a subsidiary of the major conglomerate “Mibon Group.” Hae Yeon read through the article.
Mibon operated in the same sector as her husband’s family company.
“So she was in the UK.”
That explained why Hae Yeon had never seen her at social events or gatherings.
But then, why was she acting like this toward her after returning to Korea? Hae Yeon was puzzled. Coming from Lee Su Rin—a direct descendant of a major conglomerate’s founding family—these words directed at her, the daughter-in-law of a rival group’s head, were far too strange. Even a third party would find it suspicious.
Gil Myeong Je Dang, the flagship subsidiary of Gil Myeong Group, and Mibon Foods were fierce competitors in the food industry. Though outwardly rival companies, their families or certain individuals might still be closely connected behind the scenes.
“If I ask Mr. Do Ha, I’ll know for sure.”
Hae Yeon had many other things to ask him as well, but for now, she decided to set this matter aside. Only then did she change out of her clothes, carefully gather the item from her pocket, and busily prepare for Do Ha’s return from his business trip in Gyeongju.
By the time she finished cooking, it was already 7 p.m.
Just as she was considering reading a book, the intercom rang. Do Ha had arrived earlier than expected, and surprise flickered across Hae Yeon’s face.
Do Ha was walking through the garden toward her. Since the house’s entire front was made of floor-to-ceiling glass, the outside view was completely visible—and from afar, his tall, striking figure was unmistakable as he strode toward her in a crisp suit. Hae Yeon smiled warmly and opened the door.
“You’re back?”
“Yeah. I missed you.”
Do Ha, whose features were strikingly defined, wrapped her in a gentle embrace and smiled kindly. After pulling away from his comforting arms, he kissed her lightly on the lips. Hae Yeon wanted to ask her questions right away but held back her impatience.
“Were you bored while I was gone?”
Do Ha smiled slightly, completely unchanged from usual. Hae Yeon returned his smile.
“No. Time just flew by while lazing around the house. But you must be hungry.”
“A little. You probably haven’t eaten much either.”
Hae Yeon nodded. Do Ha’s familiar, affectionate tone was just like any other day. Though usually cold toward others, he always softened his sensual lips in front of his wife.
As they exchanged smiles, Hae Yeon mentally calculated the best timing to ask her husband about it.
“…Did you hear anything from the main house?”
Do Ha asked softly, his deep-set eyes shimmering faintly. The corners of Hae Yeon’s eyes curved into gentle half-moons.
“No word at all, so don’t worry.”
Only then did Do Ha’s expression relax. She could clearly sense his concern—wondering whether the main house, which had never quite approved of her, might have harassed his wife while he was away on business.
“I’m sorry.”
Do Ha murmured quietly. Surprised by this sudden apology, Hae Yeon looked up at him. Even after four years of marriage, Do Ha still felt guilty about how his family continued to torment her as a daughter-in-law. With a shadowed expression, he gently brushed her cheek with his hand.
“It’s not your fault, so please don’t say that.”
“Still, I’m sorry.”
“Ugh, enough. Let’s just go inside already.”
Hae Yeon smiled and gave a small wave of her hand, and his warm hand met hers. After walking a short distance to the front door, his hand let go. Do Ha stopped and looked down at her with a smile near the dressing room.
“Wait for me outside for a moment. I’ll shower and be right out.”
“Okay.”

Do Ha’s natural, unforced gesture separated them as he stepped inside after hearing her reply. For the past few months, he hadn’t changed clothes in front of her—but at first, Hae Yeon hadn’t noticed anything unusual about his behavior.
Yet as the days passed, it became impossible not to realize. Until now, she’d refrained from asking out of consideration for Do Ha, but today she resolved to finally confront him about why they hadn’t even been sharing a bed.
Standing quietly in the hallway, Hae Yeon waited for Do Ha to emerge. When the door finally opened, she asked immediately.
“Mr. Do Ha, why have you been changing clothes in the bathroom lately?”
“It’s just… a bit awkward.”
Do Ha’s low voice answered without hesitation. Though not entirely convinced, his firm tone suggested further questioning wouldn’t yield an answer. In that moment, Lee Su Rin’s words suddenly rose to the forefront of Hae Yeon’s mind.
If she uncovered the truth behind the incident Su Rin mentioned, would she finally understand why Do Ha had changed? Hae Yeon pictured Su Rin’s words in her mind—even though their truth remained uncertain. Regardless, she could ask Do Ha about everything today.
Shaking off her thoughts, Hae Yeon headed toward the kitchen to prepare dinner.

As a slender figure approached, the bold black sports car’s lights flashed briefly. The woman who got in started the engine but couldn’t bring herself to drive off.
She felt deeply unsettled.
What was this feeling?
Su Rin’s eyes narrowed. She’d been surprised enough that Hae Yeon showed up at their meeting place after claiming to be Do Ha’s lover—but even more so that Hae Yeon had even retaliated against her provocations. And she certainly hadn’t expected Hae Yeon to tell her to answer her husband’s call when it came through.
Had Min Hae Yeon always been like this?
Frustration boiled over, and an incredulous laugh escaped her. She knew Hae Yeon’s shamelessness well—but not to this extent.
“Is that why? Is that the reason for this unpleasant feeling?”
She’d assumed Hae Yeon would’ve either been immediately divorced or ousted after that incident, yet their marriage had held.
By all logic, Min Hae Yeon should’ve been living in guilt. Su Rin had believed the same—that a slight nudge would make Hae Yeon step away on her own.
Yet instead of being intimidated, the woman had boldly fired back at her words. It was laughable.
Whose influence kept Min Hae Yeon married to Cha Do Ha all this time?
“Ha. Unbelievable.”
She couldn’t even recall the last time she’d endured such humiliation. Or had she ever even met someone who dared treat her this way before? And Min Hae Yeon had actually done it. How contemptible.
With another exasperated sigh, Su Rin twisted her lips. Even when reminded of what she’d done, Min Hae Yeon remained shamelessly unfazed.
There was only one way to deal with someone like that.
“You’ve left me no choice but to go this far.”
Su Rin let out a hollow laugh. Her lips quickly hardened.
She needed to change her plan. She’d offered Hae Yeon a dignified exit, yet Hae Yeon had chosen to provoke her instead. Su Rin dialed her secretary.
[Yes, Director.]“Look up that woman’s schedule.”
[Understood.]After ending the call, Su Rin murmured to herself.
“I wonder how long you’ll last.”
Her car, with its tilted lips, soon sliced through the darkness.

Hae Yeon’s house had originally been a three-story building, but the interior had been restructured into two spacious floors with high ceilings throughout. The kitchen, too, featured lofty ceilings and full-length windows offering panoramic views of the garden. Especially romantic—comparable to any café—were the windows following the slanted ceiling, framed by wooden latticework.
At the romantic kitchen table, the two sat facing each other for dinner.
“I wanted to eat a meal you made.”
His kind words and gentle laughter were delightful to hear. Hae Yeon lifted the corners of her lips into a broad smile.
“I met Miss Do Hee a few days ago. She seems to want to transfer to an overseas university.”
Do Hee was Do Ha’s dearly cherished younger sister, and Hae Yeon felt the same way. Do Hee was not only the kindest to her in the in-law family but also naturally lovely as a person. Just thinking of her brought a smile to Hae Yeon’s face—Do Hee was that adorable sister-in-law, like a younger sibling to her.
“She said she’d like you to recommend a good university.”
“She’s always been a nuisance.”
“It’s because she adores you so much. She loves everything you say.”
“Did she?”
Do Ha replied indifferently. Sitting close, Hae Yeon noticed his jawline appeared slightly sharper than usual. Perhaps the business trip to Gyeongju hadn’t gone smoothly? She offered him some grilled deodeok—a side dish frequently served by the main house that Do Ha always enjoyed.
“Mr. Do Ha, did things go well in Gyeongju?”
“Hmm, it was average.”
Seeing Hae Yeon furrow her brows, Do Ha softened his long-lashed eyes.
“Don’t worry. Even if we don’t secure that contract, we won’t starve to death.”
“You really know how to joke. Of course you’ll be fine.”

Hae Yeon smiled gently but sighed inwardly. In truth, Do Ha rarely spoke about his business at home—saying he wanted to be fully present with his wife while at home.
That he’d even joked like this now meant the Gyeongju deal was, contrary to his words, a significant project—and that he’d failed to achieve the outcome he wanted. Seeing him pout like this, clearly seeking comfort from his wife, made Hae Yeon uneasy about having to bring up such unpleasant matters today.
“Try not to stress too much. Sometimes things that don’t work out now end up going well later.”
“You think so?”
“Yes.”
Watching Do Ha’s expression soften, Hae Yeon opened her lips again.
“Mr. Do Ha, can I ask you something?”
Noticing Hae Yeon’s serious demeanor as if preparing to say something important, Do Ha quirked an eyebrow playfully.
“What could possibly be puzzling my wife?”
Do Ha’s smile was so beautifully disarming it made onlookers dizzy. His black hair fell slightly askew with the tilt of his head, and his natural bangs gave him the youthful look of someone barely past twenty.
Though Hae Yeon maintained a composed expression, her mouth had gone dry from tension.
“Did you happen to have a traffic accident last year?”
“…What?”
Hae Yeon leaned slightly away from the table and looked directly into Do Ha’s face. Startled by the sudden question, Do Ha froze briefly before letting out a gentle laugh.
“A traffic accident? Ah—you mean that? Yeah, I did have a minor fender-bender last summer.”
“Really? But this is the first I’m hearing of it. Did you choose not to tell me?”
“It was just a small incident, so I didn’t think much of it.”
Do Ha answered lightly, his tone casual and flowing. His horizontally elongated eyes gazed softly at Hae Yeon.
“How did you come to know about it?”
Upon hearing this, Hae Yeon instinctively realized—with a sense of unease—that if she revealed how she’d learned about the accident right now, she might never uncover the truth. She also sensed that the “incident” Lee Su Rin mentioned wasn’t simply a lie. Though he asked casually, Do Ha’s eyebrows twitched almost imperceptibly.
“…I came across an article while searching online by chance.”
“Is that so? Then your curiosity’s been satisfied now?”
Do Ha’s gentle gaze met hers with a faint smile. Hae Yeon lightly lifted the corner of her lips.
“Yes. But next time something like this happens, please tell me right away.”
At her lightly reproachful words, Do Ha raised an eyebrow and teased,
“Next time? So you’re wishing for another accident?”
“What? Oh—no!”
Startled, Hae Yeon glared at him once she understood his intent. Do Ha tapped the tip of her nose playfully with his index finger.
“Got it. From now on, I’ll report even the tiniest fender-bender to you. Okay?”
At his teasing question, Hae Yeon shot him a look with her lovely eyes. Yet her mind churned restlessly. While she didn’t believe everything Lee Su Rin had said, Do Ha’s reaction today gave her words some credibility.
Perhaps the “accident” wasn’t a physical one at all—maybe it referred to some kind of trouble or scandal.
“Hae Yeon, aren’t you going to eat more?”
Do Ha watched her steadily.
“Oh—yes, I will.”
Hae Yeon shook off her thoughts and nodded.
Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]
