“…Alright, Do Hee.”

Lee Su Rin was clearly flustered. Caught off guard by Do Hee’s unfamiliar demeanor, she forgot even the calm facade she’d maintained earlier and replied awkwardly.

But Hae Yeon didn’t care how Lee Su Rin reacted. What mattered more was Do Hee, who was trying so hard for her sake—her own Miss. To reassure her, Hae Yeon gave Do Hee’s hand a firm squeeze before letting go.

When she looked up, Lee Su Rin had already regained her composure and now offered a slight, faint smile.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Hae Yeon. That must be a memory you’d rather forget—I shouldn’t have mentioned it.”

‘…Ah.’

Hae Yeon sighed inwardly, biting gently on the inside of her lip. The moment she heard Lee Su Rin’s words, she realized her earlier suspicion had been confirmed.

Hearing it described so pointedly as something “she’d rather forget”—especially knowing Lee Su Rin’s true nature—made Hae Yeon keenly aware of the dissonance in that apology.

It left a bitter taste. She’d braced herself for this ever since the hospital, but it had finally happened: Lee Su Rin had figured it out.

‘She knows I’ve lost my memories.’

What’s more, Lee Su Rin wasn’t stopping there—she was actively drawing attention to that fact. Still, Hae Yeon couldn’t tell whether Chairwoman Yoon Myeong Gil or Han Yoon Seo knew as well.

Hae Yeon shifted her gaze to Han Yoon Seo sitting across from her. Yoon Seo remained quietly sipping her tea, showing no sign of knowing anything about the situation.

If Yoon Seo had realized Lee Su Rin was just now giving away Dongseo’s most critical weakness for free, she wouldn’t have reacted so calmly. Hae Yeon smoothly responded to Su Rin.

“It’s alright. As you said, Miss, it’s all in the past now.”

“Thank you for accepting my apology, Ms. Hae Yeon.”
