The doors of the Pantheon Temple, the holiest place on earth, opened. Normally closed to outsiders, it was opened today to honor the winner of the Hunt Festival jointly hosted by the Frihid Empire and the Sahir Empire.

Everyone entering the temple had to wear white robes and veils. This rule applied without exception even to the Frihid Emperor and the Sahir Emperor, who were called the greatest men on earth.

The Sahir Emperor and Empress sat in the very first seat of the right row among the densely arranged chairs. Behind them, the nobles of the empire—those from the most influential families—sat in order of their rank.

The Frihid Emperor sat opposite them, in the very first seat of the left row. Beside him, a seat reserved for an unmarried person, was taken by Chloe Frihid, his concubine and lover.

People clicked their tongues upon seeing the beautiful woman confidently occupying the seat beside him. To bring one’s own consort to such a solemn official occasion!

The grand orchestra positioned beside the dais began playing under the conductor’s elegant gesture. Gradually, the nobles’ chatter subsided.

Following a somewhat dull performance, the signature anthem of the Pantheon Temple echoed throughout the hall.

Though his frail, thin voice barely escaped his lips, an air of dignified grace filled the space around him, unmistakably highlighting the Pope’s authority.

“Today marks the commemoration of the 31st Hunt Festival, jointly held by the Frihid Empire and the Sahir Empire. May the gods bless your efforts—efforts made in service to your people, your kingdoms, the world, and the divine!”

Ahem. The Pope gave a brief cough, seemingly short of breath from speaking at length.

“Although the victor has already been decided, I wished to express my gratitude to all of you who participated in the Hunt Festival. My apologies—an old man’s prelude has grown too long, haha.”
