My Contract Marriage Got Interrupted (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 17
Elodie didn’t know exactly what had happened between Odette and Walter.
She could only vaguely guess, judging from Walter’s reaction, that Odette had chosen Count Clovis, Louis.
And from Elodie’s perspective, the only conceivable reason to choose Louis over the clearly superior Walter was love.
So naturally, she assumed Odette must be in love with Louis.
‘She makes that kind of face toward Duke Ertman too?’
It was… well, exactly the expression of someone who’d just realized they’d been toyed with by a flirt.
A look impossible to make unless one truly cared.
Of course, neither she herself nor Walter seemed to have noticed it yet.
And that fact was nothing short of a stroke of luck for Elodie.
‘They still haven’t noticed?’
Moreover, seeing that neither party readily spoke to the other, it seemed their relationship wasn’t particularly close either.
Elodie, still on the verge of tears, quickly glanced back and forth between the two.

He isn’t suspicious of Duke Ertman? Considering the rumors the Duke amplified, he has motive to drive a wedge between Louis and Odette. Yet Louie doesn’t question Walter’s words? I’d think he’d be suspicious of Walter casting the curse. Walter’s motive for doing so might be unknown but his words, seemingly knowledgeable about the curse itself and blaming it upon Odette, whom the Duke has insinuated a relationship with while Odette says otherwise, gives plenty to be wary about.
Is this woman serious saying ‘I lied to them, why won’t they believe me?’ Wow she seems a bit delusional.
