Separate from his joy, a wave of flustered confusion surged. He had come all the way to the drawing room looking for Luke, who was late for breakfast—why on earth was his own sister standing here? And with such an angry expression, no less.

Aria stopped short instead of running to him as she normally would have. She was no longer Dylan’s one and only precious younger sister; now, they were merely former employer and employee from long ago.

“The person who caused my death…” Aria chuckled inwardly. The absurdity of her current situation overwhelmed her—though this had nothing to do with the joy of her second chance.

Aria showed her surprise at Dylan’s voice, which finally reached her ears.

“You don’t need such formalities. Besides, you must have something to say to me, right?”

“Something to say?”
