Miss Pendleton (Update to C.222 END) - Chapter 71
Mrs. Fairfax, standing nearby, clicked her tongue.
“It seems Daniel scared his brother again. Sir, George is so innocent like that.”
Laura couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. Only then did George, realizing the situation, turn red in the face. Daniel, standing nearby, chuckled.
“Fool, you believe that?”
George glared at his brother. Daniel stuck out his tongue at his younger sibling. In response, George lunged at his brother. The two began wildly throwing punches at each other.
What if one of them gets hurt? Laura, anxious, looked at Mrs. Fairfax. But Mrs. Fairfax only watched her sons’ fight with a nonchalant expression.
After exchanging blows several times, the fight ended with the smaller George getting thoroughly thrashed on his arms and back by his older brother, whimpering.
“Have you fought enough? Then both of you, go back to your rooms. As punishment for fighting, no snacks this afternoon for either of you.”
The two boys’ faces twisted with indignation. Especially George’s.
“But, Mother! He teased me first!”
“And you rushed at him and threw punches. I didn’t expect you two to act like this even in front of the new governess. What would your uncle say if he knew?”
At the mention of their uncle, George’s face turned pale. Mrs. Fairfax said calmly,
“Go to your rooms now. Or you’ll go without dinner too.”
They hung their heads and returned to their rooms. Mrs. Fairfax smiled at Laura.
“My boys are quite well-behaved, aren’t they?”

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)
A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage
Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”

It’s progressing a bit slowly, but nicely… I hope there won’t be unnecessary distances between them due to misunderstandings.
I think this trip to Bath will be good to Laura. Meeting these women will inspire her to be more confident. I just hope her ex and Mr. Dalton don’t ruin it.
Each chapter leaves me in suspense for the future. Although the readers are given assurance from Laura’s feelings since the carriage kiss, I can’t help but doubt the next steps for this couple! Ian’s feeling are deep and tumultuous like waves against a cliff. I can only hope that when the two finally meet, he will remain level headed.
