Madam and the Stable Keeper (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 37
Walter slowly closed and then opened his eyes. Edith could sense that he was suppressing an impulse.
He probably wanted to ask why she had suddenly come to him in the middle of the night, tempting him like this.
Just as he was about to speak, Edith stepped forward first and kissed him.
That simple act—merely pressing her lips lightly against his before pulling away—sent his heart pounding wildly.
His patience shattered like a sandcastle before a wave at her bold move.
“If you wish.”
He answered in a low, husky voice, as if he had been waiting for this moment alone, and stripped off his tunic, instantly revealing his sun-browned skin.
Edith swallowed hard as she looked at his bare upper body, starkly illuminated by the moonlight.
The sight of his sensually sculpted, beast-like musculature pushed the magical release scroll she had hidden beneath her cloak further and further from her thoughts.
Now she wanted him too—she longed to leave her mark deep within his heart.
“You may do as you please, Walter.”
“My lady has permitted everything.”
“Don’t call me ‘my lady.’”
Edith caressed his cheek with her knuckles as if handling the most precious thing in the world.
Then, gazing into his eyes, she spoke. Before they parted, there was something she absolutely needed to hear in his voice.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
