The next day, Idren summoned a tailor to the castle. Furs and silks were already prepared in the castle, so all they needed was a skilled artisan to make the clothes.

After taking her measurements, the tailor returned to his workshop to fetch his assistants. Since the workshop wasn’t far, he told her he’d be back soon and asked her to choose the fabric she wanted in the meantime.

Yet, Idren seemed far more eager about making clothes than she was. Sitting on the sofa in the reception room, Ophelia watched the man across from her. He was examining the fabrics with a serious expression.

If only he kept his mouth shut, he’d look perfectly presentable anywhere.

Briefly pondering how recklessly he devoured things with that mouth of his, she asked,

“Did you originally intend to come here?”

“What do you mean?”

Still not looking away from the fabric, he asked back, prompting her to add,

“There’s more prepared here than I expected.”

The castle held fabrics and jewels as though they’d been set aside in advance.

Ophelia thought that was slightly odd.

Idren wasn’t the type to collect such things. Though he kept himself reasonably neat, it was just enough to appear tidy—far removed from extravagance or indulgence.

Finally, Idren picked up a piece of red velvet while inspecting the fabrics. Approaching her, he replied,

“These weren’t prepared because I knew we’d come here. In my previous life, I had stocked them just the same.”

Then he handed her the fabric he’d brought over and asked, “How about this color?”
