Life After Divorce (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 49
Edmund and I sat facing each other in his study.
The maidservant placed the tea and left, and a long silence passed between us.
Edmund waited patiently without urging me, simply watching me quietly. Though I had stopped him right before he was about to go out, and should have finished quickly, my lips refused to move.
I fidgeted with my teacup and sidestepped into my question.
“What happened to that coachman when I was kidnapped?”
“The new coachman was being coerced by one of Devon’s hired guild members, who was holding his child hostage. It was resolved amicably, so please don’t worry about it.”

While I nodded absentmindedly, Edmund spoke flatly.
“Was it really just to ask about that coachman that you requested this conversation?”
“Well… that’s part of it…”

“As you know, my memory from that day is hazy due to the fever.”
“That day…?”

The demon lord’s eyes were red with fury:
“This is all your doing! Today, I won’t rest until I kill you!”
Yu Wu rubbed her temples. Putting aside the taboo against bloodshed during pregnancy, wasn’t it this very man who willingly walked into her trap that day?!
Warnings:

- Height ratios are set to mirror typical male-female height proportions.
