Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 92
I heard that ten young ladies would participate in the selection. They would enter the audience chamber one by one to pay their respects to the Emperor and the Crown Prince.
“I am Lady Elena Delphi.”
When the first candidate appeared, all eyes turned toward her. Though the lady smiled broadly, extreme tension was plainly visible on her face.
“Terren, I was right, wasn’t I?”
“Coincidentally so?”
From the very first candidate, she appeared in a white dress with a large feather adorning her hair.
Her gait looked exceedingly unnatural as she walked toward the dais.
‘She must be terribly nervous.’
Lea empathized with the pressure the young ladies must be feeling.
After all, if she herself were in that position, she doubted she’d fare much differently. When the lady bowed to the Emperor and the Crown Prince, a long silence followed.

I don’t understand, if she is trying to save the twins, why is she putting a gun to her head? She needs to be alive for the twins to survive.
This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
