Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 91
Lea’s eyes widened as she looked at the box handed to her by Pauline—it was unmistakably something she recognized.
‘This is…!’
With trembling hands, she opened the lid and found exactly what she had expected inside.
“It’s a pearl necklace?”
Pauline gazed admiringly at the pink pearls. Though it was a gift from Allen, the pearls themselves were exceptionally lustrous.
‘Father gave this to me as a present for my eighteenth birthday.’
She remembered how overjoyed she’d been upon receiving it back then.
She’d cherished it so much she’d kept it carefully stored in her dressing room, unwilling even to wear it—yet he’d given it to another woman.
‘At least it’s lucky he gave it to me. It was originally mine anyway.’
Seeing the necklace stirred a whirlwind of emotions within Lea.
It felt almost as if it were her father’s will—after all, it had circled back and finally found its rightful owner.
Just then, Terren appeared, and Lea, startled, hastily shoved the necklace into her dressing table drawer.
“Why? Is there something you don’t want me to see?”
Terren asked, noticing Grace and Pauline looking flustered.
“N-nothing like that. Pauline just came back with the dress payment from President Allen MacDowell.”

I don’t understand, if she is trying to save the twins, why is she putting a gun to her head? She needs to be alive for the twins to survive.
This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
