Lea earnestly pleaded with the Empress and then fled the imperial palace as if escaping. Even after boarding the carriage, her ragged breathing wouldn’t calm.

Poline’s worried voice sounded distant. Lea stared out the window, lost in thought.
‘What am I even doing here?’

She wasn’t a native of Rubec. She’d lived in Galdensia until the age of twenty, and there she still had a proper home of her own.

Bang! Bang! Lea pounded the carriage ceiling to stop the vehicle, and Poline stared at her with a startled expression.
“Give each of the coachmen a gold coin.”
From her purse, Lea pulled out two gold coins.
“Why suddenly?”
“Tell them to take us to Brassel, the capital of Galdensia. I need to check on the Hamilton General Store.”

One-line summary: The female lead is actually cold-hearted and extremely rational. She has stage-by-stage relationships and won’t two-time, but there will always be someone who secretly likes her.
