In the Midst of Revenge on Cinderella (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 73
Damn it, that tempting smile was pure nonsense.
I panted heavily, glaring at the back of the man striding ahead. Whether he knew I was glaring or not, Kahilrn just kept walking briskly forward.
‘If I’d known it’d come to this, I should’ve accepted his offer to carry me earlier!’
Who could’ve guessed things would turn out like this?
He’d given me such a meaningful smile, saying I could look forward to it—so I’d been genuinely curious about what kind of place would make him wear that expression.
While crossing the narrow path lined with maple trees thick with the scent of autumn, I’d eagerly anticipated what lay at the end of the trail; and when we finally emerged into an open view revealing a vast expanse of ocean, I found myself unconsciously pressing against the window, captivated by the sunlight shattering white upon the water’s surface.
I might’ve tumbled right out the window if Kahilrn hadn’t grabbed my waist and pulled me back in. And yet—
The moment we arrived at the picturesque white villa on the outskirts of the beautiful harbor city, before I’d even finished unpacking, Kahilrn declared he had somewhere to go and stepped outside. The place he brought me to was the entrance of a forest path still lush and green even in autumn.
Thinking he might be suggesting a stroll, I followed lightly—but soon enough, I swallowed bitter regret.
Though the forest entrance had clearly appeared flat, the path grew strangely winding the deeper we went, suddenly turning into steep uphill climbs followed by sharp descents like cliffs.
Each time, Kahilrn helped by pulling and pushing me along, but it was still unavoidably exhausting.
When I began gasping for breath, Kahilrn turned around and sat down, offering his back.
“Get on.”
Though I was amazed Kahilrn’s breathing remained perfectly steady, I refused to get on his back, staring at the uphill path ahead. Even Kahilrn wouldn’t find it easy to climb that slope while carrying me.
After silently crossing more of the forest, I finally couldn’t hold back and asked.

She turned around upon hearing the noise.
He looked up at her, his eyebrows drooping: “My hand… has no strength.”
“Shall I… feed you?” she asked tentatively.
He opened his mouth cheerfully: “Ah—”
Thinking she was drowning, he jumped in without hesitation to save her, but nearly drowned himself. In the end, it was she who swam over to rescue him, giving him air underwater.
After emerging from the water, his ear tips turned red. He lightly brushed his cheek, tucking his sideburns behind his ear, revealing delicate, pink-tinged ear tips. He lowered his gaze, too embarrassed to look at her.
