When I opened my eyes, a familiar face greeted me.

Though the room and the air were unfamiliar, the faint scent of Liam mixed in, putting me at ease.

“You’re awake. It’s been a while, Your Highness.”

Benjamin Christopher—part of Liam’s entourage that had come as the Imperial delegation.

He’d vanished after we left the capital of Glisia, and now he stood beside my bed, looking down at me.

Benjamin set aside the book he’d been reading—opened to its middle as if he’d spent a long time with it—and rose from the sofa.

“Benjamin.”

Liam’s voice.

I turned my head and saw Liam in the room as well. Though glad to see him, he wasn’t looking at me—he was watching Benjamin warily.

Benjamin, however, acted as if Liam weren’t even there, smiling only at me.

“You’ve awakened after four days.”

“Four days…?”

That long?

My memory had cut off right after giving Kyler my blessing. I’d had a chilling dream, but it was already fading.

This time, when I looked at Liam, our eyes met. His expression was complex.
