Just before Wolfs pounced on Iris, Elise barely managed to call him off.

Wolfs growled lowly, “Grrr.”

“Come here, Wolfs.”

Elise gestured toward the blue aura gathering in Iris’s hand—a clear offensive spell.

The moment Wolfs lunged, Iris activated her magic.

Had Wolfs not stopped, he would have ended up like a drowned rat.

Elise felt grateful that Wolfs had obeyed her and halted.

After staring alternately between Elise and Iris for a long while, Wolfs finally turned toward Elise.

Elise let out a deep sigh of relief. She even briefly shared a moment of joy reuniting with Wolfs—but only briefly. A voice interrupted them.

“How did you even get here? And what’s with that wolf?”

Iris glared at Elise, ready to unleash her attack at any moment.

“How? I walked.”

“What about the monsters? They must have been too much for you to handle alone.”

“Are you actually worried about me?”

“As if. It’s just that something utterly absurd happened.”
