Lafine burst into a tinkling laugh.

“Really!”

With a face beaming with joy, she reached out her hand and moved toward Benjamin. Without taking even a single step back, Benjamin grasped Lafine’s hand and pulled her firmly toward himself.

“Ah!”

Shaken by a strength strong enough to make her heart flutter, Lafine staggered and steadied herself by placing a hand on Benjamin’s shoulder. Beneath his light clothing, she could feel his solid bones. Pretending otherwise, she subtly slid her hand down his back and even touched the deeply defined muscles there.

‘Good heavens…’

The sensation felt as if it carried overflowing vitality itself.

‘This man, who looks so austere and scholarly at first glance—how could he hide such raw strength? And beneath his clothes, his body is this ferociously powerful!’

Lafine unconsciously gulped. The striking contrast between his gentle, warm aura and his astonishingly rugged musculature only stirred Lafine’s hidden desires further.

“You surprised me.”

Shyly hunching her shoulders and bowing her head, Lafine subtly wrapped her arms around Benjamin’s neck. At the same time, she naturally perched herself on his thighs as if born to do so. Despite having hardly any proper human relationships, she could flirt with men with such ease.

“You must have been reading a book?”

She quickly changed the subject, making it difficult for Benjamin to ask her to get up. Thus, Lafine boldly claimed the Crown Prince’s lap—a sight so shameless it would have drawn no awkwardness even if someone called her a brazen hussy.

Had anyone else seen it, they might have clicked their tongue and scolded her as vulgar, saying that’s all she’d seen while her mother worked at a tavern. But not in Benjamin’s eyes. To him, Lafine, who pretended innocence while subtly tormenting him, seemed utterly adorable and endearing.

“Even a brief wait was unbearably dull.”
