I'll Abandon the Fake Savior (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 5
“Hrk…!”
A rough hand yanked her hair, making her scalp feel as if it were tearing apart. Yet, more painful than that was her heart—still unable to properly grasp the situation even in this state.
“Windsor, Windsor, Windsor. I’m sick of it.”
Heathcliff muttered with a heavily slurred tongue. Yuricien understood his words.
He was a man holding second place in the imperial succession of the Opfenhide dynasty, yet the Windsors were a noble house standing shoulder to shoulder with the imperial family itself.
Because of this, despite being called a solemn figure, Heathcliff was constantly compared to the Windsors—and conservative nobles even claimed his authority was inferior to theirs due to his birth from a secondary imperial consort.
That pent-up resentment had apparently erupted today. It seemed Heathcliff was determined to drag Yuricien Windsor’s dignity down to the ground.
“The whole world must know that even you, a Windsor, are ultimately just a woman.”
His barely intelligible words brimmed with profound resentment and contempt toward Windsor.
“Ha…”
Yuricien couldn’t help but let out a bitter laugh at those words.
Ever since Jorgen disappeared, everything had fallen into chaos. With the prevailing sentiment discouraging women from becoming clan heads, and with Heathcliff being deemed weaker in influence than the Windsors due to his secondary imperial birth…
“It’s absurd that a remarried wife holds greater legitimacy for the family than one’s own daughter.”
She still couldn’t comprehend it. In such circumstances, those who treated Yuricien as a noble lady were truly few and far between—and Heathcliff had unquestionably been one of them.
“But is he doing this to me… simply because I’m a Windsor?”
She didn’t know whether to be glad that he recognized her as a Windsor, or saddened that he saw her as nothing more than that.
Tears welled up. The excited flutter in her heart upon hearing Heathcliff’s call had shriveled like a popped balloon, vanishing without a trace. Her chest ached at the roughness of his hands upon her.
Where had gone the tenderness that always respected and cared for Yuricien? Now, all she felt was the forepaw of a hideous beast consumed by desire.
“Hrk!”
A pained groan escaped her involuntarily as her necklace tore away.
[Yuri, my daughter!]Beyond her tightly shut eyelids, Jorgen’s image briefly surfaced—smiling brightly, arms outstretched toward her—then vanished again, as if they’d never meet again. It felt as though everything had come to an end.
“Stay still. Huh? Just stay still… then I’ll make sure you enjoy it too…”
At the very moment Heathcliff’s rough grip seized Yuricien’s dress to tear it apart…
“My Lady!”
Someone shouted Yuricien’s name from beyond her hazy consciousness. The deep voice was urgent. She felt vibrations through her back as someone pounded on the door.
“Father?”
Though she knew it couldn’t be, Jorgen was the first person who came to mind. Unconsciously, Yuricien opened her blurred eyes.
“!”
Just as her vision fixed on the lower half of a man before her—sending her into dizzying panic—a piercing cry rang out once more.
“Lady Yuricien!”
Then, unmistakably, the door Heathcliff had locked burst open outward.
“Ugh!”
“My Lady!”
Strong arms caught Yuricien as she collapsed backward. The earlier hard blow to her head had left her so dizzy that even this slight jolt made her stomach churn violently.
“Are you alright?”
Master quickly examined Yuricien. Though her necklace had torn and left a mark on her neck, thankfully there seemed to be no other injuries. Her dress was merely wrinkled, still intact.
Through her watery vision, she saw Master’s face contorted with fury. He immediately bared his teeth at Heathcliff.
“What is the meaning of this, Your Highness!”
His thunderous roar echoed through the room. At the same time, heavy bootsteps approached. At the edge of Yuricien’s startled vision, armored men appeared in numbers.
“Who…?”
“Do not worry, My Lady.”
As Yuricien instinctively flinched, Master continued soothingly,
“They’re the neighborhood watch guarding this district—trustworthy men. I leave Lady Yuricien in your care.”
“Yes, understood.”
Gently speaking, Master handed Yuricien over to a nearby watchman.
“My Lady… you’ve been disgraced.”
One of the watchmen dared to express sympathy for the noble lady. Yet Yuricien felt no shame—only overwhelming shock at having nearly suffered something horrific at Heathcliff’s hands.
“Do not worry. We will safely escort you back to the Duke’s residence, My Lady.”
Another watchman draped a thick hood over Yuricien’s shoulders. Its comforting weight finally made her body begin to tremble. Her teeth clattered together, worsening the stabbing headache she’d had since earlier.

“Ugh… my head…”
The ringing in her ears grew steadily worse. She didn’t even have time to feel ashamed that others now knew how close she’d come to a terrible fate.
“We’ve summoned a physician—please receive an examination in the carriage. It’s essential.”
Noticing Yuricien’s strange condition, the watchman reassured her not to worry. Just as he began helping her leave…
Clang!
The sharp clash of metal rang out. Startled, Yuricien turned to see Heathcliff drawing his sword against Master. Even now, Heathcliff’s desire-filled eyes remained fixed on Yuricien.
As if he’d kill anyone standing in his way—brandishing his sword just to claim her.
The raw, gaping pit of his desire left onlookers stunned.
“Move! Can’t you hear me?!”
Heathcliff growled. But only briefly—no matter how skilled he was at hunting, drunkenness left him helpless. He was swiftly subdued by Master.
“You insolent wretch! Do you even know who I am? Get off me this instant?!”
His voice, hoarse from shouting, sounded threatening yet comically slurred. Heathcliff thrashed in Master’s grip, only making his disgraceful state worse.
“You’re all sentenced to death! Death, I say!”
“We merely intervened to stop His Highness from harming Lady Windsor within the Duke’s domain. Even if you bring us to trial, you cannot punish us.”
No matter how much Heathcliff shouted, Master didn’t even blink.
Yuricien watched as Heathcliff, pinned face-down onto a table by Master, was bound by the watchmen. His flailing like a chicken was shameful for anyone to witness.
“Yuriciieen…!”
Heathcliff’s yellowed eyes glared at Yuricien—filled only with an obsession so deep it seemed black, and a bottomless possessiveness. Yuricien couldn’t understand why he looked at her with such eyes.
“Weren’t you supposed to hate me… because I’m a Windsor…?”
She couldn’t fathom Heathcliff’s heart. In truth, she understood nothing anymore. It felt as if Heathcliff was no longer the person she once knew.
The only certainty was that her heart, which used to flutter with excitement whenever he showed even a hint of that possessiveness toward her, was now utterly gone. Something deep within her chest shattered into pieces. She couldn’t tell if it was her heart breaking—or her body.
Overwhelmed by a headache that felt as if her skull would split open, Yuricien finally lost consciousness.
The sensation of sinking deep underwater, then being pulled back to the surface by someone.
Yuricien awoke, fully reliving the same mix of fear and relief she’d felt as a child when she’d fallen into Chalice Lake.
“…”
The first thing she saw was her own hand, pale from gripping the bedsheets so tightly she couldn’t loosen her fingers even when she tried. Slowly shaking her head, she felt the dampness of her pillowcase.
“Did I… have a nightmare…?”
Her heart pounded as if she’d been struggling in a dreadful dream, yet she couldn’t recall anything. After a long while feeling her racing pulse, Yuricien realized—it hadn’t been a dream. She’d been struggling in reality.
Yuriciieen…!
From the distant edge of her awareness, she heard Heathcliff’s voice calling out to her.
“Huh!”
A chill ran down her spine, freezing her entire body instantly. That same terror engulfed her again. No matter how tightly she shut her eyes, the face of the man obsessed only with taking her kept resurfacing.
His rigid forehead, bloodshot whites, hazy pupils clouded by intoxication, his nose and mouth heaving hot breaths—and the man staring at her with a sticky, greedy gaze as he undid his belt.
“Ugh…”
The more she thought about it, the more nauseated she felt. They say forgetting is the only blessing gods grant humanity—so why wouldn’t these agonizing memories fade even slightly?
Afraid of the emptiness behind her, Yuricien pressed herself flat against the bed and stared up at the ceiling. Nothing could be more comforting than the cobwebbed attic ceiling above her.
“Hrk… ha…”
She felt tears streaming down the corners of her eyes, disappearing into her hair.

How dare you, Kendali? How could you think of poisoning him the moment he returned? A witch? I didn’t expect that.
