Benjamin and Yuricien arrived cautiously at Chalice Lake, doing their utmost to avoid encountering any undead, and hastily scanned their surroundings.

“Whew, thankfully there don’t seem to be any Heven Church believers here.”

“Yes, but we still shouldn’t let our guard down.”

Benjamin said this as he hurriedly removed his coat. He was already preparing to leap into Chalice Lake. After stripping off his upper garments completely, he double-checked that the great Windsor sword was securely fastened at his waist, then quickly turned toward Yuricien. Yuricien was gazing at Benjamin with a look of worry. The moment their eyes met, they immediately embraced each other.

“Be careful.”

“Be careful.”

Their fates, which they had believed would be resolved simply by revealing the truth about Heathcliff’s deception, had instead circled back again and again. But the world was not so accommodating—it had inevitably led them back to the very place where everything began. In truth, when Benjamin had first vowed to reveal himself before Yuricien, he could never have imagined things would escalate to this extent.

Yuricien, too, felt the same way back when he’d first encountered the Coperador Guild Master. Yet he didn’t blame anyone rashly. As they stayed together longer, more truths came to light amid an approaching cataclysm, and so the two held each other’s hands even tighter to avoid being swept away.

“I’ll be back.”

Benjamin embraced Yuricien with all his strength one last time, then released him and plunged straight into Chalice Lake. Somewhere beneath Chalice Lake lay the sacred relic—the Chalice. It was the only way to save this world and return to an ordinary life with Yuricien. Resolve even seemed to glisten on Benjamin’s face.

Plop-!

The sound of something falling into water echoed dully in Greta’s ears.

“…What was that?”

A chill ran through her. It felt as though an ill omen, like an insect, was crawling up from the tips of her limbs. Convinced strongly that something had already gone—or was about to go—terribly wrong, Greta rose from her seat before her worshipers, her brow furrowed.

“Lady Greta?”
