If You Want To Possess Me (9 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 2
After a brief silence, Kisa barely managed to find words to reply.
“You call that an excuse? I saw it all—saw you swear a knight’s oath to that woman.”
At Kisa’s gaze, Hazel flinched, and Daniel immediately stepped in front of her, shielding her as if to protect her from Kisa.
“See? Even now, you prioritize another woman over your own fiancée. If that isn’t infidelity, what is?”
“Friendship.”
“Friendship?”
A hollow laugh escaped her involuntarily.
“What man in the world swears a knight’s oath to a mere friend?”
“Why not? Long ago, the famed warrior Kobos was so moved by the character of his close friend Ilkin that he swore a knight’s oath to him—and spent his entire life afterward serving his friend as his liege.”
Kisa hesitated at this half-familiar tale. He often cited anecdotes of historical figures during their conversations, but most were stories she barely knew.
“So what? Are you saying you’ll make that woman your liege or something?”
“Why not? I truly admire Hazel. She’s someone worth my oath.”
“Don’t disguise your shallow romantic games as friendship. Kobos and Ilkin were both men.”
“Are you saying men and women can’t be friends?”
“How can the emotion that drives you to swear a knight’s oath—something you’ve never offered your own fiancée—possibly be mere friendship?”
“So in other words, you’re saying friendship has limits based on gender. You’re still stuck in such outdated thinking. Though I suppose I shouldn’t have expected anything better.”
Sighing, Daniel repeatedly opened and closed the lid of his cigar case with a soft click.
“Gender between Hazel and me is merely incidental. What we share operates on a far more essential level—we’re soulmates, you could say.”
“Don’t spout nonsense.”
“You’re the one trying to brand me as some shameless cad who’d betray a beautiful, devoted fiancée for an affair. Do you even have proof?”
“What did you say?”
“Let’s be blunt—did I confess love to Hazel? Kiss her? Propose marriage?”
“You swore a knight’s oath to her.”
“A knight’s oath is simply a vow made to someone you wish to serve. By your logic, are all knights and their lords in those old tales involved in something scandalous?”
Kisa’s voice began to tremble. She never imagined her fiancé could be this shamelessly thick-skinned.
The kind of oath Daniel described only made sense between lord and vassal or sovereign and subject—not between a young man and woman, where it was little more than a poetic form of engagement.
Yet he denied this obvious truth without even blinking.
“You think I didn’t hear you? You said your life changed after meeting her. You even claimed every moment became joyful.”
“So what? Nowhere in that did I say I love Hazel in any romantic or sexual way.”
“Daniel, you really—!”
“All this is just your prejudice talking. You’d do well to abandon that archaic notion that men and women can’t be friends.”
He finally took a cigar from the case he’d been clicking open and shut, then rummaged through his coat.
“She and I are simply friends who connect soul to soul. There’s nothing inappropriate between us, so stop worrying.”
“…I don’t understand you at all.”
“What now?”
“Soulmates? Fine, let’s grant you that for argument’s sake. But why must you share that bond with another woman instead of your fiancée?”
Her eyes stung, but Kisa strained every nerve not to shed tears in front of them. That last shred of dignity had to remain intact.
“An engagement is a promise of marriage, isn’t it? Leaving aside me—the one sworn to be your life partner—why is it right to swear a knight’s oath to that woman and grow so close? Are you really that blameless?”
“Hmm… so you’re saying I should’ve made you my soulmate instead?”
“Yes—if you absolutely needed such a grand thing, and the other person had to be a woman.”
She waited a moment for his reply. He first pulled a knife from his coat pocket, neatly sliced the end off the cigar, and lit it with a lighter.
“Kisa… must I really say it that plainly?”
“Say it. Daniel Lowens.”
The man took a deep drag of smoke.
“You’re simply too….”
His lips hesitated briefly before spitting out the word with clarity.
“Stupid.”
Kisa’s mouth fell open, unable to process what she’d just heard. Watching his dumbfounded fiancée, Daniel scratched his head.
“Damn it. I didn’t want to tell you that either. But sometimes, being direct is better than beating around the bush.”
“…I’m stupid?”
Trending
“That’s how it seems from my perspective.”
“You’re unbelievably arrogant. I don’t deserve to hear that. In what way am I stupid?”
“Alright. I’m sorry. My words were inappropriate. You’re not stupid—you’re just on a different intellectual level than I am. By average standards, you’re certainly competent enough.”
His condescendingly gracious tone only stoked Kisa’s fury further.
“Tell me! Exactly how am I stupid?!”
“Let’s just drop it, alright?”
“Drop what? You think you can insult me to your heart’s content and just walk away?”
“No, I never meant to insult you.”
At that moment, the third person—who had remained silent until now—finally interrupted their argument.
“Please, both of you calm down.”
The woman stepped out from behind Daniel and met Kisa’s eyes.
“Lady Bansfeldt. I don’t know if you’ll believe me, but your fiancé and I truly share a pure friendship. I swear it.”
“…Hey. You stay out of this. This is between me and this man.”
Kisa, already overwhelmed by confronting Daniel, had no energy left to deal with this woman too. Yet the gray-haired woman refused to step back.
“No. You misunderstood upon seeing me with him, so I bear some responsibility as well.”
Frustration surged. Though her fiancé—who had just betrayed her and called her stupid—was her primary source of anger, this woman was certainly no welcome sight either.
Kisa had simply postponed dealing with someone she didn’t know well, intending to handle her only after settling things with Daniel.
But this woman kept trying to persuade her.
“Let’s talk first. Calmly discuss it and clear up this misunderstanding. Right now, both of you are far too emotional—.”
“Stop it already!”
Kisa ended up shouting at someone she’d just met that day—the first time she’d done so since her childhood etiquette lessons.
“You. Watch your words.”
But the reply came not from the person she’d yelled at, but from Daniel beside her. His frantic glare at the woman was almost comical.
“You watch yourself, Daniel Lowens. And you’d better understand your own position too.”
Kisa shot back at him, then turned her sharp gaze toward the stunned woman.
“Do you really think it’s normal to accept a knight’s oath from another woman’s fiancé and then insist on continuing this kind of relationship? Clearly, you knew he was already engaged.”
“Kisa, enough.”
“How dare you interfere? And with that shameless, innocent face, no less—”
“That’s enough!”
Daniel suddenly roared, thrusting his arms between Kisa and his friend to force them apart. Towering and broad-shouldered, his aggressive huffing made Kisa instinctively shrink back.
A different kind of shock struck her now. Despite having endured his betrayals several times already, she’d unknowingly still clung to the belief that Daniel would never act this threateningly toward her.
“…What right do you have to treat me like this?”
Daniel Lowens snapped irritably at his tearful fiancée and childhood friend.
“I was trying to resolve this peacefully. You’re the one causing a scene with innocent Hazel.”
“Who’s innocent here?”
“Fine. I don’t even want to talk to you anymore. I’ll answer your earlier question, so stop hounding me about it. Understand?”
A crooked smile settled on his face as he spoke.
“You asked where exactly you’re stupid? Then let me ask you just one thing, Kisa. What do you think about Bardism?”
Caught completely off guard, Kisa fell silent. Bardism? What even was that?
“Don’t know? Then I’ll ask—what’s your opinion on Griffen’s recent paper published in the Royal Academy journal?”
She’d heard the name Griffen mentioned in passing, but beyond knowing he was a prominent scholar, Kisa knew nothing else.
“No opinion? Well, surely you at least know the root cause behind the recent trade dispute between our country and Octava a few days ago?”
“….”
“You don’t know that either. Right, you don’t.”
When she failed to answer the third question as well, Daniel’s expression turned deeply conflicted.
“It’s fine. You can’t know everything. Not everyone pays attention to such current affairs.”
He patted her shoulder with his thick hand.
“It’s not a bad thing—it’s just that our interests differ. Besides, your father probably wouldn’t appreciate his daughter concerning herself with such matters.”
The acrid scent of cigars wafted from him.
“But unfortunately, I can’t accept as my soulmate someone whose interests don’t align with mine at all. It’s hard for me to keep loving someone who merely obeys her father’s wishes.”

Her fingertips—and then her toes—grew cold. No, her whole body now felt icy.
“Now you understand, right? So please go back. I’m not your property. Even as my fiancée, you have no right to meddle in my personal relationships.”
With that, her fiancé turned away from her far too easily and looked instead at the other woman.
For over ten years, that unrequited affection had belonged to Kisa alone.
Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]
