Aww, how lovely that they reconciled! This novel demonstrates the importance of communication in relationships, whether between couples, siblings, or children.
It is curious that the author included the struggle of a father with his potential son-in-law for the affection of his daughter without it being as cloying as in other novels.
Jo, complains that it’s unfair to have to go back to her miserable life, but when she was planning to do bad things there, she didn’t feel any injustice.
