What on earth did that even mean? Was I only a girl that one night? Or had I started looking like a girl to him ever since then?

Ji Seo Jun’s confusing words left my head in a mess.

My mind was doing its own thing, and my heart was doing its own thing—they weren’t listening to me at all.

Did I actually like that guy?

Even after returning home, my heart wouldn’t calm down. I spent a long time wondering—could it be that I’d liked him all along?

“No, no way.”

I’d definitely never seen Ji Seo Jun as a guy. I could swear on my designer bags tucked away in dust bags in my closet—my babies—that it was true.

“Come out quickly and have dinner!”

Mom called out.

I hurriedly changed clothes and went out to sit at the dining table. I barely touched my food, just picking at it, and got bombarded with Mom’s scolding.

“You don’t appreciate how hard it is to cook for you! If you’re going to act like that, just go live on your own! Only when you have a daughter like you will you understand how I feel!”

It was the same old lecture, so it didn’t really hurt me.

Ignoring Mom’s nagging, I washed up and lay in bed, fiddling with my comfort plushie as I briefly looked back on the past.

The clearest memory I had of the time spent with that guy started from kindergarten.

From elementary school through middle school and into high school, we’d stuck together relentlessly, annoyingly so.

Though I’d lived in the cold, dark shadow cast by his brilliance, it hadn’t been entirely gloomy.

When it was just the two of us, we actually had fun.

We communicated well—at least, that might’ve just been my own illusion—and shared similar hobbies. Most of all, it was just so comfortable.

Heart palpitations?

I’d never once felt that kind of abnormal fluttering before.

Yet now, after spending just one night with him, my heart was acting strange.

I bolted upright in bed and pulled out a photo album tucked deep inside my bookshelf.

The album, containing several volumes’ worth of photos, was packed full—from when I was a baby all the way through high school.

All thanks to Uncle Seung Ho’s hobby.

More than half of my photos were taken with that guy. Most of the baby pictures showed us both naked together.

In elementary school photos, we stood a bit farther apart than when we were babies, but still close enough to fit within the same frame.

In high school shots, there was Ji Seo Jun with his arm draped over my shoulder, making an exaggeratedly silly face.

That particular photo was from the first day of high school—a day when I’d planned to leave early and go to school alone, only to have that guy ruthlessly ruin my plan.

I’d been so shocked to find him waiting right outside my house at dawn.

I remember struggling through PE class that day because I’d pulled a muscle in my back—and how much I’d cursed him for it.

After this brief trip down memory lane, I closed the album.

Two-thirds of my life had been spent with that guy.

“If I ever date you, I won’t do it half-heartedly.”

His words from our walk home came back to me.

Now, flipping through the album, I finally understood why he’d said that.

Our shared moments were neatly stacked inside. Between those faded photos and the fragmented memories that surfaced here and there, Ji Seo Jun had always been there—as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Just because something felt natural didn’t mean it wasn’t precious. It hadn’t all been good times, but I clearly understood the value of the memories we’d built together.

Ji Seo Jun probably felt the same way.

The day Ji Seo Jun moved, I still didn’t understand why I’d been called along.

Mom, Dad, Aunt Yoon Hee, and Uncle Seung Ho were all in the car heading toward Ji Seo Jun’s officetel.

“Why do I have to go?”

I whispered to Mom, who promptly pinched my plump thigh.

“Ah! Ow!”

When I yelped, Mom covered my mouth and chuckled, “Ho ho.”

“You’re world-class at being dramatic. Number one.”

“Oh my, Da Yul’s mom! Where on earth would you hit Da Yul? Honestly!”

Of course—Uncle Seung Ho, always on my side.

“Nowhere? Nonsense! There’s plenty of spots. It’s just that she completely ignores anything involving Seo Jun, so it’s infuriating.”

“But even if Da Yul says that, she clearly thinks about Seo Jun a lot, right? Isn’t that true, Da Yul?”

This time, Aunt Yoon Hee countered Mom’s remark and turned to me.

Chapter 115 Chapter 114

I didn’t want to lie to her, but I couldn’t be honest here, so I added a spoonful of white lie.

“Of course. Obviously.”

At my words, the three adults—except my mom—burst into hearty laughter.

Ji Seo Jun’s belongings had already arrived at the officetel, but ignoring his instruction to come only after he’d finished unpacking, the adults had launched a full-scale intervention.

“Do you really think a guy alone can tidy up properly? It won’t look right until moms get their hands on it.”

“Exactly! Exactly!”

Uncle Seung Ho agreed with Mom.

“But Ji Seo Jun’s probably going to hate this…”

Ji Seo Jun had always shown discomfort at our parents’ occasional over-the-top behavior, though to the adults, it just seemed like childish complaining.

His complaints always ended up falling squarely on me.

If even his parents couldn’t control him, how was I supposed to?

After chatting all the way, we quickly arrived at the basement parking lot of his officetel.

I swiftly pulled out my phone and secretly texted him.

[The adults are in the basement parking lot now.]

The doorbell rang, and almost immediately, the front door swung open.

“I told you to come only after I’d finished unpacking.”

He grumbled the moment he opened the door.

How could someone so annoying look so sweet? To the adults, honey practically dripped from their eyes.

“It’ll get organized faster with moms’ hands on it.”

With that, they all swarmed into Ji Seo Jun’s officetel.

This was our first meeting after his three-month grace period—just one week later.

Following the adults inside, I found the place still full of unpacked boxes.

“There are also boxes from the U.S., so it’s not fully organized yet. There’s barely even a proper spot to sit…”

Ji Seo Jun was stacking boxes in one corner to make space for the adults to sit.

Every time he moved a box, his back muscles flexed visibly. It took tremendous willpower just to look away.

I realized something.

Ji Seo Jun’s body was surprisingly more my type than I’d thought.

Was I some kind of pervert?

No, impossible. Definitely not!

“Moon Da Yul!”

“What?”

I heard Mom call, and before I knew it, the words slipped out of my mouth.

“What on earth were you just thinking about?”

Worried my thoughts might’ve been obvious, I quickly turned around and pretended to inspect the house.

“You’ve already seen this place—why bother looking around? Hurry up and help unpack.”

While I’d been lost admiring Ji Seo Jun’s back muscles, the adults had already rolled up their sleeves and started opening and organizing boxes.

Unhappy with me just standing around, Mom quickly handed me a box.

“On my day off, I end up unpacking your stuff?”

Pouting, I tore open the box Mom gave me—and it was filled with Ji Seo Jun’s colorful socks and underwear.

Of all things, they had to hand me the underwear box.

I couldn’t exactly ask for another one—Dad and Uncle Seung Ho were handling heavy boxes with Ji Seo Jun, while Mom and Aunt Yoon Hee were in the kitchen organizing dishes and utensils.

I sat in the room Ji Seo Jun had designated as his dressing room and began unfolding and folding the underwear one by one.

“Wow, surprisingly diverse and colorful.”

Folding mindlessly, I realized men’s underwear designs were far more varied than I’d expected.

After geometric patterns and a riot of colors came to an end, I was just entering the zoo-themed section.

“Hey! What are you doing!”

The zebra print underwear vanished from my hands.

“I’ve finished organizing. Hand it over. I still need to sort the socks.”

“Never mind. Stop already.”

“I said give it back.”

Chapter 120 Chapter 119

I had a very admirable habit—once I started something, I had to finish it myself or I wouldn’t feel satisfied.

“I said stop!”

With the adults around, he couldn’t raise his voice, so Ji Seo Jun just clenched his jaw tightly and glared—a little funny, honestly.

I couldn’t let this opportunity slip.

“Give it back. I’m almost done with just the zoo-themed ones. Oh look, there’s a tiger print too. Rawr.”

“Seriously, just stop.”

“Wait a minute. Looks like you really like zebras. These are a bit stretched out compared to the others.”

At that moment, something suddenly shoved into my mouth.

It was a sock from the same box.

“Pfft! Ugh, ugh! What are you doing!”

“Say that again, and I’ll let you taste the other socks too.”

He was the kind of person who’d actually follow through, so I just glared without saying another word. My mouth felt unpleasantly dry from having bitten the sock.

“Stop fondling my underwear like a pervert and get out.”

“If I leave, Mom’ll just give me more chores.”

“Then go do those chores.”

At Ji Seo Jun’s warning, I brushed off my backside and headed to the kitchen.

“Mom, Ji Seo Jun says I shouldn’t work.”

“How half-heartedly did you do it for Seo Jun to say that?”

“Oh dear, why are you so desperate to keep Da Yul from working? Da Yul, just go sit on the sofa.”

I sulked at Mom’s words but cheered up at Aunt Yoon Hee’s.

“Give me something else to do. We’ll finish faster if we work together.”

I figured the quickest way out of here was to finish organizing as fast as possible.

“Then could you help me move these dishes?”

How could a guy living alone have so many dishes? Every time another carefully wrapped dish appeared, I grew more puzzled.

“Is it really true he lived alone in the U.S.? Why does he have so many dishes?”

I asked Aunt Yoon Hee as I unwrapped the newspaper from the last dish.

But the reply came from an unexpected source.

“A man living alone isn’t allowed to have lots of dishes?”

It was Ji Seo Jun.

Having finished organizing the closet, he stood smugly in the kitchen doorway with his arms crossed.

“Who said what…”

“Hehehe. I sent him quite a few too.”

As we exchanged glances, Aunt Yoon Hee covered her mouth and chuckled.

“When he went to the U.S., he got really into cooking. So I sent him some of my favorite dishes—and look, now he has so many plates.”

Aunt Yoon Hee, formerly a culinary researcher (currently on break), apparently owned quite a collection of dishes.

When she heard Ji Seo Jun had started cooking while studying abroad in the U.S., she’d happily sent some of her treasured dishes—and now he’d carefully packed and brought those plates all the way back.

“Oh dear. I wonder who’ll end up marrying our Seo Jun. Whoever it is, they’ll be blessed.”

Hearing this, Uncle Seung Ho—who’d just finished unpacking the last box and stacking it aside—suddenly joined the conversation loudly.

“It’s different with Da Yul. That’s right.”

*Crash.*

Startled by Uncle Seung Ho’s words, I dropped the dish in my hands, and it shattered on the floor.

“Oh no! I’m so sorry!”

I quickly gathered myself and picked up the broken pieces.

“Leave it. Don’t get hurt being clumsy.”

Ji Seo Jun grabbed my wrist to stop me.

“That’s right, Da Yul. Are you hurt anywhere? If you’re alright, it’s fine. Seo Jun, do you have a broom? Bring a broom and a dustpan.”

Aunt Yoon Hee spoke calmly.

“I thought you’d finally behave quietly today. Oh dear…”

Mom pulled me over to sit on the sofa, took the broom from Ji Seo Jun, and started cleaning up the broken dish.

“It’s fine. As long as Da Yul isn’t hurt, that’s all that matters.”

Aunt Yoon Hee smiled gently, making me feel even more guilty.

Mom and Ji Seo Jun swiftly cleaned up the accident scene.

“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.”

I apologized repeatedly to both Aunt Yoon Hee and Ji Seo Jun. Ji Seo Jun stayed silent, while Aunt Yoon Hee kept reassuring me it was alright.

“I’ll take out the broken dish for you.”

I took the bag containing the broken pieces from Ji Seo Jun’s hand and stepped outside.

As I waited for the elevator, someone opened the front door and came out. Turning my head, I saw Ji Seo Jun putting on his sneakers to leave.

“Aren’t you worried the whole neighborhood will think something happened between us?”

“What?”

“Why are you so flustered? Hasn’t your dad said stuff like that before?”

“Well…”

He was right. I’d been startled by Uncle Seung Ho’s comment, my grip had loosened, and I’d dropped the dish.

“Do you want to tell the adults?”

“Are you crazy?”

“Then act like nothing happened.”

Ji Seo Jun stood with his hands in his pockets, only watching the elevator floor numbers rise.

“Can you really do that?”

At my question, he turned his head slightly to look at me.

“Can you really act like nothing happened—like it never even occurred?”

“…”

Ji Seo Jun just stared silently at me.

*Ding.*

The elevator opened, but neither of us moved.

“Do you think I can?”

After saying that, he stepped into the elevator. I quickly followed before the doors closed.

The floor numbers changed rapidly.

“If nothing had happened, you would’ve just let me keep fiddling with your underwear.”

*Ding. First floor.*

The elevator announcement sounded, and Ji Seo Jun stepped out.

“What are you doing? Hurry up and get out.”

Still standing there dazed like an idiot, I snapped back to reality at Ji Seo Jun’s voice and stepped out of the elevator.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
