The Kraken shrieked—Alan’s flying cursed blade had severed one of its tentacles.

As soon as the tentacle was cut, the two of us fell. Alan landed directly on the ground, while I, eyes tightly shut, tumbled straight into Mr. Benjamin’s arms. He caught me without the slightest hesitation.

Juno using her hard-earned, life-or-death reward from a literal city lord not to ask for gold, rare magical beasts, or legendary weapons, but to firmly look Lord Capulet in the eye and say, “When Juliet falls in love someday, please don’t oppose her choice of partner,” is absolutely brilliant. She literally used her dungeon clear reward to single-handedly rewrite the entire tragic ending of Romeo and Juliet before the script could even start.- This chapter absolutely wrecked me. Watching Juno’s raw, deeply buried complex from her past life completely shatter the cozy high teen atmosphere of her new family is devastating. She is carrying the exhausting, heavy phantom weight of student loans, grueling part-time jobs, and the suffocating anxiety of the “awkward zone of poverty” into a world where her parents just want her to have a normal, happy high school experience. The sheer emotional whiplash of her pulling her hand away and giving the absolute worst, most brutally honest answer because she refuses to let her deep-seated academic trauma be dismissed as a “silly hobby”.
- I am deeply moved by how Adrian handles Juno’s raw confession about her past life and her suffocating academic obsession. While her family accidentally suffocates her with worry and the System mocks her as a “Grade-Grinding Goblin,” Adrian doesn’t tell her to fix her complex or stop running. Instead, he completely validates her ambition, tells her he will cheer her on until she gets into that Ivy League university, and promises that whether she changes or stays exactly the same, he will be right there to watch movies, visit bookstores, and help her empty her heart whenever it gets too full.
