The fairies, who were always cheerful, were different today. Even after Stella’s question, they giggled for a while before suddenly shouting in unison,

“The fairy seed has appeared!”

Ludina trembled all over from how adorable the fairies looked as they hopped up and down. She wanted nothing more than to scoop them up into her pockets and carry them around.

“A fairy seed?”

Stella had heard about the fairy stone left behind by Woo Hoo, but this was the first time she’d heard of a fairy seed, and her curiosity was piqued.

“What’s that?”

“Oh, come on! It’s the seed from which we fairies are born!”

Esta replied with the same matter-of-fact tone one might use when explaining that chicks hatch from eggs.

“Fairies are born from seeds?”

“Sometimes from seeds, sometimes from fruit… I was born on a day with heavy snowfall—inside a snowman made by a child. Isn’t that incredibly cool?”

Iver answered with a beaming smile.

Stella, who had assumed fairies married and had children like humans, was wide-eyed at this entirely new revelation. She wanted to ask more, but her curiosity about the fairy seed was even stronger right now.

“That’s truly amazing! Where is this fairy seed?”

“In our room! We found it under Sagurak and took it home. We put it in the best bed and covered it with the softest blanket. Remember my favorite blue blanket? I gave it up for this. You have no idea how beautiful our fairy seed is. Do you want to see it?”

Iver, bragging proudly, looked as endearing as an otter doting on its own pup.
