With the sharp crack of a whip, the boy walking ahead collapsed onto the ground. And then—

“Stop it already!”

A small-statured man shouted wildly and wrapped his arms around the fallen child.

No—though she had been mistaken for a man due to her raggedly cut hair and worn-out trousers, her voice was unmistakably that of a woman.

Just as the ostrich-like man swung his whip down toward the woman’s back, Puca charged in like a buffalo and sent him flying far away with a solid thud.

“What the hell!”

“Who are you!”

The woman, still clutching the child tightly while bracing herself for pain, could only widen her eyes in shock at this sudden aid and hesitantly stepped backward. Even so, she never let go of the trembling boy in her arms.

Before anyone could stop him, Scott rushed toward the slave traders, shouting belatedly after their leader had already leapt into action.

“Heehee! You’re all dead now! Our boss is furious!”

Puca was never one to mix emotions into a fight.

The fact that Puca—who had tried hard to stay out of this mess—had now thrown himself in recklessly meant his opponents stood little chance of walking away unscathed.

Not long after,

over ten slave traders knelt on the ground, their bodies tightly bound just like the slaves they had dragged along like beasts moments before.
