During the week-long hunting festival, Stella felt as if she were on a picnic.

It was a pity she couldn’t tend to the crops in her garden, but with Dudel and the earth sprites around, she had no worries. Daren and Lian also said they’d occasionally go check on things.

The princesses were busy deepening friendships with princesses from other districts throughout the hunting festival. In the Plante district, Princess Anet remained the most popular by far.

Her tent was thronged daily with visitors, while Stella’s tent remained idle, with not a single guest stopping by.

Milla felt stifled watching Stella, who showed not a trace of impatience. Perhaps Stella truly harbored no ambition to become empress.

Yet even without such lofty aspirations, she still needed to marry one of the empire’s prestigious noble heirs to survive here.

Otherwise, she’d be doomed to spend the rest of her life in the old, remote Verdura Castle, utterly forgotten.

“Your Highness, would you like to visit another princess’s tent?”

“No.”

Though expected, Stella’s reply was firm. Milla stared fixedly at the tent entrance with a frustrated look, rising and sitting repeatedly, hoping someone might pass by and drop in.

But Stella, seemingly having brought it along some time ago, was utterly absorbed in reading the farming book she’d accidentally received last time.

“They even have something called ‘thorny sweet potatoes’—have you ever heard of them, Milla? They’re much sweeter than regular sweet potatoes and great for colds. They look incredibly strange. Oh! And ‘earth corn’ too? Its roots look just like corn. So you eat the roots. Apparently, you can even squeeze them to use as salt substitute. How fascinating.”

Watching Stella beam with delight over the farming book as if it were a romance novel left Milla utterly exasperated. A grim premonition settled over her—Stella would surely end up spending her whole life in Verdura Castle.

“Your Highness, do you find that book entertaining?”

“Yeah. It’s even more fun than I expected. You should read it sometime, Milla. Then you’ll understand why I said it’s fun.”
