But something else startled the people far more than the word’s meaning.

“Vast? It borders the sea, so it has a harbor, and the soil is so fertile it produces abundant grain.”

Ferron was among the warmest and most pleasant territories within the Credion Empire. Many nobles coveted it, yet the Emperor had never granted that land to anyone, no matter what merits they had earned.

Indeed, even Duke Will, the Emperor’s own mentor, had never received Ferron.

People once again keenly felt just how significant Princess Stella was to the Emperor and began fiercely scheming about how best to win his favor.

Kai smiled contentedly as he watched the murmuring crowd, unable to conceal his own bewildered emotions. Their reactions unfolded precisely as he had anticipated, without the slightest deviation.

Until now, Stella had been the only person whose actions ever defied Kai’s expectations. That had startled him, drawn his interest, and made him want to keep her close. Being near Stella made his otherwise dull life feel vividly alive.

Meanwhile, Stella, who knew little about where Ferron Territory was or what kind of land it was, quietly accepted the imperial decree with both hands.
