Kissing Stella had been an impulsive act.

Her small lips, promising to stay by my side, were so lovely that my eyes kept drifting toward them. My heart swelled so uncontrollably that I felt as though nothing else remained inside my body but my heart.

I was breathless as if I’d sprinted through a battlefield, and my chest trembled so violently that I feared my heart would burst if I didn’t kiss those beautifully moving lips right before me.

I swear, in my entire life as Emperor of the Credion Empire, I’d never been this nervous in front of anyone—not even during my own coronation had I felt such tension, trembling, and overwhelming emotion.

Kai kept gently tasting Stella’s soft lips against his own, feeling as though his entire body was melting away.

He desperately wanted to draw even closer to Stella, to claim every part of her as his own—it was driving him mad.

He’d always prided himself on having more patience than anyone else, but right now, he wanted to throw that patience straight to the dogs.

Only the quiet sound of their soft, moist lips meeting and parting filled the silent reception room. Her delicate, trembling breaths were repeatedly swallowed by his rough, impatient ones.

He’d never realized that touching another person’s skin could feel so blissful and joyful. Kai thought that if he could, he’d never want to leave Stella’s side again. Lips alone were far from enough.

Kai’s hot lips, finally pulling away, now slowly traced a path down Stella’s neck, leaving faint marks behind. With every deep breath he took, Stella’s sweet, fragrant scent seemed to seep into him.

Kai focused so entirely on the sensation against his lips that he barely knew where on Stella’s body he was kissing anymore.

It felt as though no one else existed in the world besides Stella and himself, and he absolutely didn’t want anyone else interrupting them.

Different breaths and sounds—unlike those exchanged when their lips first met—now filled the quiet reception room.

Trembling breaths escaped through Stella’s flushed, swollen lips. Her mind went blank, and she felt all strength draining from her body.

After the repeated kisses finally ended and they were catching their breath, Kai’s hot lips traveled past her neck and began moving steadily downward.
