I Didn't Really Want to Do Farming! (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 16
What a being, possessing both cuteness and solemnity at once.
Stella quietly stared at Woo Hoo, who was fiddling with his beard as sharp as a brush tip, before finally replying.
“Please let me leave this country. Somewhere far away would be best. And please make everyone here forget me.”
She spoke, worried that Mila and the servants might suffer because of her. Besides, if even the Emperor and the princesses forgot her, there would be nothing to worry about.
Hopeful that she might finally live freely, Stella gazed at Woo Hoo with sparkling eyes. But the reply she received was not the one she had hoped for.
“I’m sorry. The only thing we can grant is within the boundaries of this land.”
His previously confident demeanor had completely vanished.
“This… land?”
“Yes.”
Woo Hoo tried hard to look directly at Stella, but his eyes clearly showed regret.
“Does that mean only within Verdura Castle?”
Woo Hoo frowned, about to nod, but suddenly his eyes lit up and he shook his head.
“Not anymore!”
“Then?”
Stella asked again, her heart fluttering. She tried to calm herself, but her breathing kept quickening.
“It includes everywhere up to where Emperor Credion resides.”
Woo Hoo answered with a broad smile.
“Oh…”
Her disappointment matched the height of her earlier hope. To Stella, whether it was Verdura Castle or the palace where Emperor Credion lived made no real difference—it meant she still couldn’t escape her hostage status.
Stella, who had been staring dejectedly at the floor, suddenly jumped up as if remembering something. The earth sprites’ eyes all followed her movement in unison, their murmuring voices trailing behind her.
Stella rummaged through the top three drawers of a tall cabinet before finally pulling out a scroll and thrusting it abruptly toward Woo Hoo.
It was the bloodline document she’d retrieved earlier. She couldn’t stand the sight of it, but she had no choice now.
Woo Hoo, who had been watching her curiously, jumped back in surprise as the scroll suddenly shot toward his face.
Nearby earth sprites crowded around the scroll with curious faces.
Some wrinkled their noses and sniffed it suspiciously, while most stared at it with expressions of burning curiosity.
“Then can you at least get rid of this?”
Woo Hoo took the scroll and began to unroll it.
Since the scroll was much larger than Woo Hoo himself, the nearby earth sprites clung to it and groaned as they helped unfold it together. Woo Hoo’s eyebrows twitched as he carefully examined the opened document.
“It’s upside down.”
At Stella’s quiet remark, Woo Hoo leaped up and hurried to the opposite side of the scroll. The other earth sprites quickly shuffled behind him in a group.
“I was just inspecting every corner thoroughly.”
Woo Hoo replied in a boastful tone while stroking his beard, but Stella somehow found it hard to believe him.
Even if she couldn’t escape the castle right away, if they could just destroy the bloodline document, she felt she could somehow find a way.
Stella struggled not to lose hope entirely. But after pacing several times around the scroll with heavy sighs, she couldn’t help but feel disappointed once again when Woo Hoo finally spoke in a grave voice.
“This isn’t a magic we can break.”
“Why not?”
“It’s a blood oath, isn’t it?”
Woo Hoo said matter-of-factly. Though he couldn’t read human writing, he could clearly sense the nature of the magic emanating from the scroll.
After staring at the scroll for a long while, searching for another solution, Woo Hoo finally sighed deeply and approached Stella.
“A blood oath can only be broken by the person who shared their blood with you.”
“What if that person dies?”
Woo Hoo flinched slightly at Stella’s mention of death—apparently, earth sprites were pacifists.
“Then the oath would naturally vanish.”
“So as long as that person lives, I can never escape this place.”
Stella sank onto the sofa in disappointment. Seeing her gloomy expression, Woo Hoo leaped up and tapped her leg lightly. He desperately wanted to help but felt frustrated by his inability to do anything.
“No, it’s not entirely impossible.”
Stella instantly lifted her head.
“The one who gave you blood must burn this. But you can’t do it yourself—if you burn this document, your body will feel as if it’s being torn apart.”
Stella already knew this from experience, so she didn’t need to hear more. She hadn’t expected an easy solution, but hearing the details made things feel even more hopeless.
Her father, Philip Obelit, who had given her his blood, was in excellent health—and since he’d sent her here in place of Beatrice, he’d never willingly destroy the document himself.

After all, he’d never abandon his most cherished daughter to this place filled only with empty hope.
“Is there truly nothing else we can do for you?”
Woo Hoo asked sincerely, feeling deeply sorry. She was the one who had saved their lives, yet they couldn’t fulfill her immediate need. The other earth sprites nodded eagerly in agreement with his words.
Stella gazed out the window with lifeless eyes.
She saw the untidy garden outside. With a deep sigh, she spoke in a voice devoid of hope.
“Then please tidy up that garden for me.”
Since they felt guilty for being unable to help, she asked for something visible they could do. At this, the earth sprites’ disappointed faces brightened instantly.
“We can definitely do that!”
“We can do it anytime!”
Their voices brimmed with confidence. Finally finding something they could actually accomplish, the earth sprites jumped up and down with joy.
Seeing their genuine eagerness to do something for her, Stella’s heavy mood began to lift, little by little.
Right. I’ll find my own way out of here. There must be another way to destroy the bloodline document.
At the very least, she didn’t feel as lonely here as she used to.
[This is the timeline separator]The history lessons took place in Muge Castle, located at the entrance of the Plante district.
It was the castle where Princess Anel from Engclit stayed—the largest and most splendid among the castles in the Plante district, with over ten maids and attendants assigned to it.
Though she, too, seemed to be held as a hostage, her situation was clearly different from Stella’s.
Princess Anel was the youngest and most beloved daughter of the King of Engclit. Since her two older sisters were already married, Anel was the only one who could be sent.
Rumors spread widely that on the day Anel was sent to Credion, the king wept openly, disregarding all dignity. The gifts Princess Anel brought were also astonishing.
She had brought with her the Ring of Truth, one of Engclit’s national treasures. Though the box was small, when its contents were revealed, even the Emperor rose from his seat to examine it closely.
Naturally, Anel’s standing, already solid, was instantly elevated even further.
Whenever the princesses saw Princess Anel, they nearly died of envy—but they hid their seething jealousy beneath polite smiles.
The study hall in Muge Castle, where lessons were held, was as spacious as the central hall of Verdura Castle.
Inside stood a large blackboard for the instructor and rows of desks prepared for the princesses. By the time Stella entered the study with Mila’s help, the other princesses were already seated.
At Stella’s entrance, all the princesses’ eyes turned toward her at once. She heard a few whispering and giggling softly.
Pretending not to notice, Stella calmly introduced herself.
“I am Stella Lune Obelit of Amalune.”
The princesses smiled and slowly began to clap at Stella’s introduction.
Though they all shared the same hostage status, a clear hierarchy existed even within this room. At a glance, it was obvious that the closer one sat to the front, the higher their rank.
Just as the applause began to fade, the princess seated in the very front rose gracefully. Instantly, all eyes in the study shifted from Stella to her.
“I’m glad to meet you, Princess Stella. I’m Anel of Engclit. I regretted not having time to greet you yesterday. Since we’ll be seeing each other often from now on, let’s get along well.”
After Anel finished her greeting, the other princesses one by one offered their own greetings to Stella. So many names poured forth that Stella could barely remember half of them.
She had expected someone to mention yesterday’s gift, but surprisingly, no one did. That said, there were still some who looked at her with thinly veiled condescension.
Just as the one-sided greetings were nearly over, a young man entered the study.
He had long gray hair tied neatly at his waist and an overall slender appearance.
His sharp, steely-gray eyes, glinting discerningly behind silver-rimmed glasses, swept briefly over the princesses before locking onto Stella.
He pushed his glasses slightly higher up his nose and observed Stella more closely. Though young in appearance, he carried an oddly aged aura about him.
Male lead reborn without memories — but he still falls for her.
The person he finds displeasing in this life turns out to be his cherished wife-master in previous life…

Xie Zhi immediately took out his phone, slid through his contacts, and randomly selected the next marriage candidate.
The woman snatched his phone and hung up. Looking at his phone wallpaper, she awkwardly changed the subject: “An ancient painting, eh? It looks pretty good, it’s just that the person in the painting looks a bit like me.”
When he heard this, he sarcastically mocked her for being so delusional, completely unaware that, the person in front of him was the reincarnation of Wen Ru, the famous prime minister of Yuan Shun whom he most admired…
