I Didn't Really Want to Do Farming! (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
“We must break that jar’s lid. We can’t touch it ourselves.”
Woo Hoo exclaimed excitedly as he watched Stella casually handling the jar. Just moments ago, he’d been frantic over his inability to stop her, but now his face flushed red with surging anticipation.
“So we need to open it.”
Stella silently hoped that nothing snake-like would crawl out from inside the jar.
“I’ll open it now.”
Stella said as she reached her hand toward the jar’s lid. Ark and Esta had climbed up a tree and covered their eyes completely.
Woo Hoo, too, squeezed his eyes shut tightly as if unable to bear watching, clenching his fists. He resolved that even if something terrible happened, he would never flee from this place—he would meet his end heroically.
Stella took a deep breath and gripped the lid firmly.
“Here goes!”
After a brief hesitation, Stella heaved the heavy lid and threw it with all her strength.
Crash!
The flying lid shattered into pieces as it struck the collapsed pile of stones. Simultaneously, faint glowing letters seeped out through the cracks of the broken jar, floated upward like smoke, and vanished instantly.
Considering how tense and frightened they’d all been, the ending felt utterly anticlimactic.
“Is it done? Is it over?”
Stella asked, looking dazedly at the shattered lid.
Woo Hoo, who had kept his eyes tightly shut, staggered forward in disbelief, dropped to his knees before the broken jar fragments, then suddenly raised both arms triumphantly and shouted,
“The curse’s inscription has completely disappeared!”
“Th-that’s… good news.”
Just as Stella stood up with an awkward smile, the ground near where she’d been standing began to bulge and shift.
Thinking the curse had activated belatedly, Stella started to run—but halted abruptly at the sudden cheer that followed.
“Hoorayyyy!”
“Long live Stella!”
“The curse is broken!”
“We’re free now!”
Earth sprites burst out from the ground one after another—more than twenty in number. They joined hands, encircled Stella, and spun around her in circles.
“Long live Stella!”
“May Goddess Tera bless Stella!”
“May the blessing of the earth be upon Stella!”
Already overwhelmed by the sudden emergence of so many sprites, Stella was further bewildered as they showered her with blessings all at once.
Glancing around in confusion, Stella soon felt her body growing lighter and examined her empty palms curiously.
“Huh? Hey!”
“Can you feel the blessing?”
“Do you feel stronger?”
Ark and Esta came running over and leaped onto Stella’s shoulders.
“Well… I do feel a bit lighter.”
“Now Stella will be perfectly healthy.”
“Yes, Stella will live a very, very long life.”
She didn’t know for sure yet, but the idea of being healthy and living long felt wonderful.
“But what was inside?”
Esta, perched on Stella’s shoulder, stretched her neck to peer into the jar. Stella, who hadn’t paid attention to its contents until now, bent down to look inside.
A soft glow emanated from the jar, yet strangely, she couldn’t see what was within—even though it wasn’t particularly deep, which seemed odd.
Could it be treasure?
With a racing heart, Stella reached her hand into the jar. Her fingertips brushed against something cold.
Gold!
From the texture alone, Stella was certain it was a gold ingot. She also felt something stick-like, but paid it no mind.
“Pull it out.”
Ark and Esta urged her from beside her. Their excitement made them hop up and down on her shoulders, tickling her.
Stella glanced at the sprites with a mix of excitement and apprehension, then plunged her arm deep into the jar. She gripped the hard object tightly and yanked it out with all her might.
Flash!
The object that gleamed brilliantly in the sunlight was—
Trending
“A pickaxe?”
It was small enough to fit comfortably in one hand. Having secretly expected a precious treasure after disturbing the sprites’ vessel, Stella frowned deeply at the unexpected appearance of a farming tool.
Though she hadn’t been treated as a proper princess in Amalun, she’d never once held a farming implement, making this even more absurd.
“Ohhhhh! A noble pickaxe!”
“Magnificent! How incredible!”
Unlike Stella, who was thoroughly disappointed, the sprites celebrated as if they’d discovered a diamond.
“Is this really valuable?”
Stella asked, still frowning. Now that she looked closely, the pickaxe’s head did shimmer unusually brightly—almost as if made of silver rather than iron.
“It’s one of the items imbued with Goddess Tera’s blessings. To think those wretched earth goblins hid it here!”
“Earth goblins? What are those?”
Stella felt an involuntary chill run down her spine.
“They look somewhat like us, but feed on the land’s evil energy. The more of them there are, the weaker and more lifeless the land becomes.”
“Do they… have black eyes?”
Stella asked with a sinking suspicion.
“Yes. Pitch-black and round like wild grapes, with no whites at all.”
Just thinking about them made Ark shiver in disgust.
“And dark skin?”
“Yep. Rough and dark like tree bark. Much uglier than us.”
Ark clapped in agreement with Esta’s description.
“And they can’t speak well?”
“They only mimic human speech without truly understanding it. Ugly and stupid, the lot of them.”
“Hey! Then Ark, you must be an earth goblin too—since you’re ugly and dumb.”
“Hey!”
The other earth sprites giggled at Ark and Esta’s bickering.
Realizing that the being she’d met in Amalun wasn’t an earth sprite but an earth goblin, Stella broke out in goosebumps.
“If I talk to an earth goblin for too long, will something terrible happen?”
Stella swallowed hard as she asked. She both wanted and dreaded to hear the answer.
“They drag humans who talk to them for too long underground. But don’t worry—if they appear, just pretend you didn’t see or hear them, and they’ll give up and leave.”
Esta, pinching Ark’s chubby cheek, nodded as she answered. Ark swung his fists wildly at her, but his short arms couldn’t reach.
Stella’s mind grew troubled.
If her mother hadn’t slapped her cheek when she was young—if she hadn’t taught her to avoid speaking to earth goblins—what might have happened? A cold shiver ran down her spine. Had her mother known all along?
Seeing Stella sitting there dazedly, Woo Hoo approached quietly and asked,
“But what do you plan to do with that noble pickaxe?”
“I don’t need it—please take it.”
Stella thrust the pickaxe toward the earth sprites. But Woo Hoo shook his head.
“The noble pickaxe has already chosen its master. We weren’t worthy of its selection.”
“It chose me? But it just looks like an ordinary pickaxe.”
At Stella’s words, Woo Hoo and the sprites flushed bright red as if deeply insulted.
“Don’t insult the noble pickaxe—that’s the same as insulting us.”
Woo Hoo, who had been nothing but kind until now, responded with unusual firmness. Realizing she had no choice, Stella sighed deeply and irritably jabbed the pickaxe into the ground.
Then something strange happened. An intense, hair-raising pleasure surged from her fingertips. It felt like being struck by a delightful bolt of lightning.
“Why is this happening?”
Stella jabbed the pickaxe’s tip into the ground again. Her fingertips tingled, heat rushed through her body, her heart pounded, and strength flooded her arms.
“I just want to keep digging.”
Without realizing it, Stella began furiously digging into the nearby earth with the pickaxe. Thick grasses were uprooted, revealing soft, damp soil shyly beneath.
“By the grace of the noble pickaxe!”
“Blessings of Lady Tera!”
As the sprites cheered beside her, Stella kept tapping the pickaxe into the earth.
A short while later, Mila sighed so deeply it seemed the ground might cave in as she watched Stella, whose dress was now thoroughly caked in mud.
Though she hadn’t met many princesses, this was the first time she’d seen one return from the garden utterly covered in dirt.

Caught in Mila’s disapproving gaze, Stella hid the pickaxe behind her back and gave an awkward smile.
For some reason, she felt she shouldn’t let Mila see the pickaxe—or anyone else, for that matter. Though it was merely a pickaxe, it felt inexplicably precious to her.
It had truly been a bizarre day.
[This is the timeline separator]Stella quickly opened the window upon entering her room. Worried that the earth sprites might not reach the fourth floor, she relaxed upon recalling they’d visited her here before.
After opening the window and waiting briefly, five earth sprites hopped in through it one after another.
While the other sprites leaped directly from the windowsill to the floor, Ark attempted several times before giving up and grunting as he slid down the curtain.
Unable to watch any longer, Stella reached out and gently placed him on the floor.
“Thanks!”
Ark beamed so widely his round face flattened.
“How did you manage to climb all the way up here if you can’t even get down from there?”
There was nothing on the wall for the sprites to climb.
“Oh, I can climb up fine—it’s just going down I can’t do.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s scary.”
“But climbing up is scary too.”
“It’s okay. As long as I don’t look down, I’m not scared.”
She almost asked whether not looking down while descending would help too, but held back. They’d probably figure it out themselves, and it felt like unnecessary meddling.
When Stella sat on the sofa, the earth sprites climbed onto the table one by one. Ark, surprisingly, scaled it without hesitation—how strange. Standing side by side, the sprites looked just like toy figurines.
“Stella, since you helped us, we’re obligated to fulfill any request of yours. So tell us—anything at all. We’ll help you with whatever we can.”
Woo Hoo was the first to speak. His expression was more serious and solemn than ever.
Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!
――
This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
