Despite Miss Calent’s reproach, Natasha returned without properly voicing even a single complaint.

Perhaps she had worried in advance that provoking her opponent further might cause Miss Calent to expose a secret Natasha did not wish to have revealed.

Upon returning to her quarters, Natasha searched for matches and lit a candle. After glancing around the newly illuminated room, she gasped in shock after a moment.

At the center of her quarters—specifically, at the table—sat a black figure.

It resembled a seated form: a man of enormous build, larger even than Sir Dante, whose body had been honed through rigorous training.

The sight of an unfamiliar man, presumably male, having suddenly infiltrated her room…

Despite the rather frightening situation, Natasha remained calm. The only moment she flinched was when melted wax settled onto her fingers.

Perhaps her heart had turned as dull and numb as stone, having already experienced this once before.

Somehow sensing who the figure was, Natasha spoke first.

“I believe I told you not to follow me, Your Grace.”

She didn’t even move the candle toward him, as if unwilling to confirm his face.

Her firm voice sliced through the aged silence and filled the room.

Coincidentally—or perhaps not—the moon, previously hidden behind clouds, revealed itself. Faint light seeped into the chamber, barely illuminating the silhouette. Soon after, Zieghart’s face became dimly visible.

Their red eyes locked onto each other simultaneously. Between their intertwined gazes, ambiguous emotions clashed.
