Hwang Doju nodded.

I had so many questions I wanted to ask, yet my mind wouldn’t settle. So I simply bowed my head.

“I’ll head back for now. I’ll come again soon.”

“Yes, yes. I’ll always be waiting for you.”

His voice carried such a lonely tone that I felt a little guilty, but for now, I just wanted to leave. In the end, I took only a few books and slipped away from there.

Hearing such unexpected words from such an unexpected person left me still dazed.

‘There shouldn’t be any trouble.’

I tried hard to calm myself. Even if someone found out, it wouldn’t matter. Hwang Doju had promised not to speak of it, and even if others somehow learned the truth, nothing would change.
