“Let me say it first.”

“Shall we… dance?”

“Oh….”

As for dancing… she had learned it from Mother before.

Mother had taught her all sorts of things that seemed utterly useless—including dancing. She never imagined she’d actually have a chance to use the dance steps she’d learned from her. Now that she thought about it, it seemed Mother had taught all her children everything she herself had learned as a princess.

But back then, her only waltz partner had been her older brother, and since they’d always been indifferent toward each other, neither had taken the lessons seriously. Standing in this grand ballroom now, she wasn’t confident she could dance properly relying only on childhood memories. She was already so cautious, unsure if even the tiniest movement was being done correctly.

Chloe, who had been quietly standing right next to the Duke merely observing the ball’s atmosphere, was utterly flustered by his sudden suggestion.

“Oh, I suppose you’re not much for dancing, then.”

“Yes. I’m not good at it.”

“Hmm… besides climbing trees and jumping around, maybe you should try learning to dance too.”

Chloe abruptly turned her head to look at the Duke. He was smiling. She shot him a quick glare before sharply turning her head away again. Clearly, this man found teasing her endlessly amusing.

“Shall I teach you?”

He spoke again while she was staring intently at the dancers, huffing in frustration.

“No, thank you!”

“You seem like the type who picks up physical things quickly. That dance isn’t difficult.”
